17 students from my daughters high school in Oregon have applied to CP SLO, so far only one has been admitted. No one else has heard. It is so weird how they are just trickling out this year. My son heard back end of January 2 years ago. Very stressful for her waiting. She has heard from all of her other schools and we are all anxious for her to make a decision. Good luck to everyone!
Cal Poly’s website says they will let everyone know by April 1. Typically notifications have come out in mid to late Feb, but they have no commitment to doing that and it may take longer this year as they accepted too many students last year. Chancing people is also pointless, as the scores are not set in stone. If they get a more competitive or less competitive pool of students to select from the standards will be different. They have to look at their numbers by major and program. If they suddenly get 1000 kids applying to a program with perfect test scores and perfect GPAs, the program becomes harder to get into as the top students will get selected first. It’s all about where you fall in the application pool and that is different every year. Be patient. You’ll know when you know. Y’all are going to make yourselves crazy with all the guessing a predicting, when the ONLY ones who know anything are CP Admissions.

@CPMom60 we are aware that the decisions may come out as late as April, but we also have personal experience of friends/relatives that have gotten in before that deadline, and there are typically a lot of high performing applicants… just because it is in the CSU department doesn’t automatically mean everyone applying is an idiot
My daughter was accepted mid Feb 3 years ago, and my son is waiting to hear now. @TheMasterNoob There is no reason to be rude and this is not only a student forum. I certainly wasn’t calling anyone an idiot or implying that I know everything. Just suggesting that all of the "release predictions"and chancing requests are guesses. I will sign off and leave you to it. I hope you all are enjoying your senior years. Good luck on acceptances! My household is also eagerly awaiting the release of decisions.
@CPMom60 Sorry my bad, didn’t mean to come across so attacking, it just is a bit frustrating to here seemingly more parents than students in a lot of these threads and the waiting is really difficult, and I know what you said is accurate that thinking about it more is driving us all crazy, but it’s kind of inevitable for me at least to feel that way. My apologies.

Some parents are very involved with their children’s application process so they know a lot!
And I do appreciate parents like @CPMom60 for coming back to provide us information. Honestly, I think the CC thread is so active is because of those parents! I don’t see a lot of college freshmen coming back here to participate. They are too busy and they’ve moved on.
So apparently another student at my school has a distant family member who works in admission at slo and they confirmed that the admissions will be released March 1st. Who knows if this is credible or not but that’s the info I’ve got
btw I live in southern california, somewhat near slo, so I believe that this could be possible

Hi all, college freshman here. I applied to Cal Poly SLO last year and received my acceptance email on February 20. I ended up accepting an offer from Stanford, so not sure when the admissions emails are going out this year, but it should be soon. BTW, my Cal Poly portal was updated before I received the actual email notice. One of my friends had checked his and told me about his acceptance. I think the portal was updated 2-3 days before the email, if I recall. Good luck!

@xafl134 Haha I’ve seen you post that many times now and it always makes me laugh. My prediction is that decisions will be released next week at the earliest, most likely Thursday and Friday, but getting them at midnight would be awesome
