It looks like they’re just super slow this year, for whatever reason. I believe I’m a highly competitive candidate and most everyone believes that I will get in but I haven’t heard anything. I’m an in-state permanent resident and I applied to the Computer Science program.
@Americanoplease what are your stats?
Hey everyone! I posted in this thread quite a while back but in case it got buried and anyone wants to hear from a current student, I’m a second year Computer Science major at Cal Poly. Feel free to ask any questions you may have!
@bioincs is it possible to be a cs major if you have next to no coding experience
@bioincs is it hard to get in as bio major?
Does anyone know about architecture or what the stats look like for prospective architecture students?
@Coopy1 I don’t know what my MCA score is because I’m too lazy to read the whole scoring system. Anyways…
Straight A student
Took 6 APs thus far, scored 5’s in Calc BC, Phys 1, CompSci A, Engl Lang, US Hist, Euro Hist
In 5 APs now Engl Lit, Biol, Chem, Gov, MacroEcon
2017 SAT - 1510 (CR 710; Math 800); Essay all 7’s
SAT Math Level 2 - 800; US Hist - 770
This wait is making me anxious. I’ve been reading CC for quite some time but never registered until today because it looks like we’re all in the same boat (except the few (with study abroad/international experience) who have been accepted).
@Americanoplease Very impressive stats good luck
Chance me
I know Cal Poly Engineering is one of the most competitive departments and I think I might be a competitive candidate

Could oos be tomorrow?
I don’t know if this will be useful for anyone but thought I’d put it out there. I’m a senior that applied for environmental engineering and I took a BIO112 class last semester at my local community college for my fourth year of science and I am currently taking ENG124 for my fifth year of English, on top of my high school courses. I called on Thursday because I had a gut feeling that something was wrong with the way my classes were put in (in the college section, not in my high school course work), because of how unsure the admissions officer from SDSU was when she was helping me with my application. Anyways, those classes aren’t being considered with my application because of my “error reporting my courses” and now they are not matched with A-G so I only have 6 semesters of science and 8 semesters of English. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue or if my mistake was careless and no one else was confused with imputing college classes (I now know how I was supposed to, but it doesn’t matter because nothing can be changed).
@Americanoplease what’s your major?
My daughter was accepted to SDSU mid-December with an option to apply to honors. Last week she was accepted to CSULB.
I really don’t think it’s an new application issue for all cal states. As far as SLO goes, I can see them having to readjust the mca scores due to the change in the app.
I’ve posted this on the thread already, but my daughter’s friend was accepted into SLO’s engineering major back in January. He was accepted to SLO and Pomona on the same day and he’s in-state.
@idkdude What were we supposed to do for our college classes? I put mine in both the high school and college section (since it’s dual credit, I thought we were supposed to). I hope I didn’t mess anything up.
@SupremeCactus:
Here is the instructions on how to report College courses for the Cal State Apply
College courses used to fulfill A-G requirements
o Report the College course in the high school grade level in which the course was completed
o Enter the Course title and the semester/quarter grade earned
o Under Course Type, select College
o In Colleges Attended, list the campuses where the courses were completed
@teachmama2 sorry to throw shade on your friend’s acceptance claims, but in the 4 years I’ve been following this I’ve never seen a January acceptance for SLO, even for internationals. I seriously doubt the claim’s validity. Pomona, that’s a different story.
You did it the right way, I was told that I didn’t need to put them in the high school coursework area, which is incorrect. @SupremeCactus
Some may be athletes – once NLI is signed, they can claim being admitted to the college.
@eyemgh It is not my intention to spread false information at all , especially about a sensitive subject such as this. My daughter was told this by her teacher about her son. We also happen to be good friends with this family outside of their teacher/student relationship. I see no reason for his mother to lie to my daughter about his acceptance.
Is he a recruited athlete??
if so, that may be possible
