@bumblbee looking back at past threads, yes, it looks like late March early April is when you would hear.
@MelloG Thank you!!
Any instate BioSci yet?
@pennplz: Use the magnifying glass icon on the right bottom or top of this thread. Type in Biology or Biological Sciences into the prompt. This will list all replies in this thread that has that keyword to help you find your answer. Yes, there have been several acceptances in-state for BioSci.
Accepted 3/2
In-state
Business Administration
ACT: 29
GPA UW: 3.97
GPA W: 4.32
If I haven’t gotten an acceptance notification yet, does that mean that I did not get in? I am OOS
I know a couple people already have, but anyone else get in for software engineering?
Gumbymom or anyone: The estimated in-state “registration fee” for 2018-19 is $9,792, and total estimated cost for in-state is approx $28,300. The Health Services fee is not separately listed. Does the registration fee or total approx. cost include the Health Services fee?
@Interested_Dad https://chw.calpoly.edu/healthfee
Seems they want to increase the fees this year
So do we think more IS acceptances will come out tomorrow?
@jkasali - I think so. It seems like there are still several high stats applicants that have not heard yet/still pending status. Unless something is drastically different than past years.
Thank you, MelloG, for sharing the link. I pursued the material in your link in an effort to get a firm grasp of the total, all-in cost of attending Cal Poly. It’s still not clear to me if the health fee is included in the registration fee. And darn it, it looks like the fee will be rising faster than inflation and my paycheck over the next four years.
I apologize to all the readers of this thread for my tangential topic of health fees. The elation of my daughter getting accepted to Cal Poly remains, but is now tempered by the financial reality of having to pay for Cal Poly in very near future.
Does anybody know if last year (or in years past) was it the case where on Monday waitlist started rolling out? OR, did additional acceptances continue?
@Interested_Dad yes, the health center access fee is included in cal polys quarterly registration fees. It’s not insurance per se, but covers non-emergency health care from the campus health center during the week. Most students keep their “home” insurance for urgent care or ER visits. I’d highly recommend joining the Cal Poly SLO Mustang Parents Facebook page. It’s a great information resource for questions like this.
@KhaoSoiii Cal Poly for animal science. Hands down.
For recently accepted students, congrats. I’d highly recommend joining, or having your parents join the Cal Poly SLO Mustang Parents Facebook page. Tons of useful info and timely announcements for newly admitted students and new Mustang families. Congrats and welcome to the Mustang Family!
RdgGirl - Wow. I am shocked your D is still waiting for ME. She seems highly qualified. Please keep us posted.
I sure am hoping that more kids get notification tomorrow of an acceptance. The problem I see is that alot of schools get too many qualified applicants and not everyone can get an acceptance. The wait continues.
some of the stats postedhere are so high it begs the question why you applied to slo. I doubt amyone outside of california has heard of slo.
@RdgGirl Have you confirmed on her portal that she is listed as a “Freshman” under the “Academic Level” versus a a transfer student. I saw other reports of students with significant CCC units misclassified… My S had 4 CCC classes. Calpoly counted as 8 semesters as 1 college class counts as 2 semesters UCs don’t double CCC classes in the GPA calculations. The result is that it did lower his GPA a bit due to the capped extra points. His UC GPA 4.2, CSU 4.17, Cal Poly 4.12.
