these kids that are getting waitlisted are ridiculous, they are way above average and should not be getting waitlisted by cal poly, cal poly should be lucky to have them interested, just sad
SAT 1510, UW GPA 3.93 and took about 3 advanced classes a year including AP bio, calc and stats. As in all math/science. Numerous volunteer hours in a UC genetics research lab. Won math and robotic competitions.
Waitlisted for biochemistry.

Based on common sense, period.
SLO is a good school, but it’s not Stanford/Cal/UCLA.
Son was waitlisted for English today. His backup major is history and now thinks he may prefer history. But he would love SLO either way. How does admissions consider backup major for waitlisted students?
@ningve exactly, college just gets more and more competitive every year and discourages students who are hardworkers but not meant for ivy leagues, state schools should be where they belong, i realize cal poly is the best one but still kids with 4.2 not getting in is just disappointing

Should have applied CE or a transfer student. I have enough college credits to do so.
Sometime after 4pm, my S was waitlisted for IS AE. We feel so fortunate!

11 AP’s all 5 so far except Freshman APHUGS 4
no idea MCA, we never calculated or considered, perhaps this planning is necessary.
SLO is his number 1 after MIT (super reach) but he was accepted at Purdue, Embry-Riddle plus 2 more. Nice if he could be in-state. Hope this info helps others who are waiting. Congrats to all…from what I have read here, this crop of students rocks!
i just got waitlisted for architecture, so if were waitlisted and they don’t let u know if ur in or not by may 15 what are we even supposed to do bc i have to let other colleges know by the first and this is my number one college
i don’t wanna jinx anything for myself but seeing people way smarter than me getting waitlisted i’m getting kind of worried that if me and my 3.85 can’t get into cal poly that i should just give up on UCs now and send an SIR to one of my safety schools (’:
