Cal Poly Pomona rolling decision? We are out of state, heard nothing yet. Applied to ME

Cal Poly Pomona does rolling admissions. Impacted majors like ME will hear later so usually February through March.

Gumbymom, CPP has changed their website. Do you happen to know if they still publish the CPP index for impacted majors? I can’t find it any more…

It looks like their MFA model (with GPA formula, but missing the point values for other attributes) and 2024-2025 (last year) thresholds are now posted at CPP Freshmen Student Profile: Multifactor Admission .

The CPP MFA model:

  • CSU_GPA * 1000 + 450
  • math course work (for impacted STEM majors only)
  • local area or veteran / military
  • first generation
  • youth services
  • RISE, Project CAMINOS, The Wonderful Company
  • Extracurriculars
  • AVID, Gear Up, Upward Bound, etc.

Note that point values other than for the GPA based formula are not given. But the GPA base formula is the minimum an applicant may have for comparison to thresholds by major.

We logged on to the portal and see following only. I went to the bronco portal , still seeing admission under review. do I need to wait a bit longer to get the final decision?

Status: Provisional Admission Action Required (Exclamation Point)
Status Explanation:

Congratulations, you have been admitted to Cal Poly Pomona! Your selection from a pool of thousands of well-qualified applicants recognizes your academic accomplishments.

Your offer of admission is provisional and based on self-reported information until we verify your satisfactory completion of all admission requirements. Once documents are required for verification of eligibility or there is a change in your admissions status, you will be notified.

Freshmen and transfers: In order to accept the offer of admission, please submit your $150 non-refundable Intent to Enroll no later than June 1. Visit this page to view step by step instructions for accepting your admission offer and paying your Intent to Enroll:

Masters/Graduates/Credential applicants: Please contact your Department for your admission status.

Congratulations the student is admitted however they remain provisionally admitted and under review until the final high school transcript is received and reviewed for admission requirements. Provisionally admitted students still move forward with other enrollment activities such as orientation and course registration

is the provisional only specific to my son or it applies every one? I believe it must the latter. but I wonder how come when I used MYCPP to log on, it says that he was admitted. It also asked me to go to a new portal to check, but I went to their new portal, I see status as under review, and no offer letter. basically they are out of sync.

All colleges admit students provisionally. Regarding the portals, I cannot say since why one states admitted and the other states under review. Since CPP switched to a new portal, you are probably right that they are not yet synched. You could email admissions to get confirmation. Admissons@cpp.edu

Normally applicants receive an email to check their portals for their application decisions.
