Thank you very much for your advise.
Iāve heard some really good things lately about CPP. Can anyone talk about the holistic ācollegiate experienceā? How many freshmen and sophomores live in dorms on campus and stay around during the weekend? I read something in the 30ish percentile range but maybe thatās for all students.
Interesting that they have āpausedāthe usual requirement that non-local freshmen live on campus for the upcoming academic year (even though they say itās beneficial and contributes to student success). Does anyone know why this is?
S25 admitted today- received email to check the portal

S25 was not admitted provisionally. The letter says āCongratulations and welcome to the Bronco community! Youāve been admitted to Cal Poly Pomona for Fall 2025.ā
Congratulations to your son.
Even if not stated, all college admissions are provisional until the admitted student meets are the requirements for enrollment such as Graduating High school, maintaining their Senior GPA/passing all their Senior classes and submitting final transcripts.
MFA index threshold for CS is 4676. My son got accepted for CS. I am wondering that the acceptance rate is. 30%?

30% acceptance rate for Computer Science? Nope, two years ago it was under 10%, and I have to assume itās harder now, though itās not published publicly anywhere.
Source: I know someone who did institutional research for the entire CSU system; they break down admission rates by major and campus and review them internally. My acquaintance no longer works in that office, so donāt have updates.
Iām curious about this as well and my first thought was maybe they donāt have enough rooms for all freshman to live on campus. I donāt see anything about a housing guarantee either. Iāve sent an email to housing to try and get more details but havenāt heard back yet.
I know that the acceptance rate for CS at SLO is < 10%. I didnāt know that acceptance rate for CS @ CPP is that low.
Did anyone get an honorās college invitation? Got in 2/4 for Aerospace Engineering, didnāt see anything
If youāre interested in the Kellogg Honors College, you can apply hereā¦
Application window closes on 3/16/25.
Did you get the update from Admission team. We are also seeing same status for my son today. Admission portal shows in review and my.cpp shows admitted.
Just an update, status updated in the Application portal as well today. I am happier than my son now.

My son received an email on 2/4 inviting him to apply for the Kellogg Honors College.
Just double checked and I got it that day as well, didnāt see it until now, thanks.
My son got in for Mech E, CS GPA 4.22, we are from WA state. We are waiting for WUE scholarship- anyone heard yet? There was nothing about the WUE in his acceptance letter.
Congrats! I believe WUE scholarships are giving out after the initial acceptance notice. Not sure on timeline. My S25 is in CA and got WUE for Oregon State a couple weeks after getting accepted. I am sure you are waiting to hear back from UDub (if so, good luck. My S22 daughter is at UDub). Getting into Cal Poly Pomona for ME is tough (so feel proud). I am a Cal Poly Pomona grad of 25 years ago, so feel free to ask any questions if needed. My S25 got into Cal Poly Pomona also (Business).
