I just need to vent. We live on the East coast and are trying to plan a visit to see California school. Really hard waiting for SLO! Can’t book the trip yet. So frustrating!
We live in CA and frustrated cause we are supposed to visit east coast school depending on admittance to SLO! Feel you.
Thank you! I appreciate the correction and will update the post now.
@2hsgirlz - One possibility is knowing when Cal Poly Open House is https://orientation.calpoly.edu/openhouse - You can always book airfare and hotel in advance and cancel if it doesn’t work out.
Best of luck to all on this thread!
Is SLO the only Cali school you applied to?
Same here
No. She’s into Davis as well. So not the easiest to plan for both.
same waiting game here for UCs / Poly - having to play chicken with our OOS visits
it’s a relatively easy drive between Davis and SLO, if you have the time.
I mean, no essays-should be a quicker turnaround
and no SAT/ACT review, GPAs somewhat ‘normalized’ to CSU-capped, and no early action interim decisions. At least declare a date and put out a yes/no/WL on the declared date
Cal Poly SLO does declare a date:
- April 1
- Cal Poly strives to notify all applicants of their admissions decision.
I am not defending their practice but they do state a date and I have been on CC since 2012 and the it is always the same complaints about their admission decision process which is “SLO”. Best of luck to all applicants.
Thanks for this! I thought I’d read that somewhere…
I just talked to my college counselor at my school, and she said a Cal Poly rep is coming to my school on Tuesday to talk to accepted students about what’s next and she’d be given the list of my school’s accepted students by the end of this week.
So that means they’d come out tomorrow Friday right? I hope
Seems like this is the latest they’ve ever released.
I can’t decided if I think it is better or worse for a lot of schools to release on the same day. Could have SLO, UCSD, UCI and maybe even UCLA on the same day.
Sometimes it’s better to just rip the band-aid off lol
I hope for OOS students too. Watching the airfare prices rise like my anxiety.
Yeah, it should be! Or else it’d be a very empty talk, haha
‘by’ being the operative word, vs ‘on’. they (like SDSU) trickle out varying responses at varying times, and make people wonder.
