Cal Poly SLO Class of 2029 Freshman Discussion Thread

Interesting. I wonder why they would add that now.

does anyone NOT have it???

I have it too

Has anyone submitted the form?

my son has it for aerospace engineering

I have it and I applied for sociology.

But if you read the instructions it says:
What do you need to do?

  • Step 1: Accept your offer of admissions via your MyCalPoly portal
  • Step 2: Complete the Math Placement Survey via the link on your To-Do list in your portal.
  • Step 3: Check your email and To-Do list for information regarding your preliminary placement after one business day.
  • Step 4: Follow the instructions in your email to either send official documents (test scores, transcripts) to Cal Poly or take the Math Placement Exam.

woah

For what it’s worth my son said he saw no change in his portal so maybe it is a sign.

so are we accepted if we have it?

So last year it looks like there was application status which read ā€œawaiting Official SAT scoresā€ .

I’m so sorry for the false hope. My son did get it. So I’m not sure what it means. Fingers crossed for everyone!

That doesn’t make sense as they haven’t been looking at SAT…

I filled it out and they said: ā€œThank you for completing the Math Placement Survey. Based on the information we have, you are qualified for your first math courseā€.

I believe you aren’t supposed to submit it until you confirm your offer of admission.

oh well either way its my top choice and why would they make it available to submit in the first place

It is supposed to be an indicator of acceptance but it looks like everyone has it so Idk. I hope this at least means decisions are soon!

hopefully!

So last year it looks like on the day acceptance went out, people’s application status changed to no longer ask for SAT Scores. Wondering if the math placement is being pre-loaded and then will disappear before decisions are posted. Just guessing. I do think that these portal updates are sign decisions are coming soon!

The server is also down for the Student Center part of the My Cal Poly portal, which also happen last year a few days before decisions were released. Last year the portal went down on Friday 3/8 and decisions came out that Monday 3/11.
