Cal Poly SLO is still part of the Cal state system so they need to stay within the admission guidelines setup for the Cal States. They still have their own specific selection criteria which includes a different GPA calculation than the rest of the Cal states and higher recommendations for the a-g courses.
As for portal astrology, there is nothing to try.

Unless SLO changes their decision timeline this year, the first decision wave is only admits.

So last year decisions started being posted on Monday March 11th around 11:30; but in prior years (2023 and 2022) it looks like decisions started rolling out at 3:30 and 7 p.m.

That makes more sense to me. I think its odd some decisions are coming out in the middle of the school day.
It was Tuesday, March 3 @ 7pm in 2020. SLO has a very strange, confusing and somewhat cruel decision release.
My daughter and many of her classmates are distracted at school as they wait for the release. I agree decisions shouldnât be released during school hours!
