Does anyone have a hunch on release date/time of day? Do they usually wait until later in the month on declines/waitlists or is it all at once?

In the past, they have released all acceptances at one time. A few days/week later they release waitlists and then a few days/week later they release declines. Brutal.

Last year was a 3 week process for Cal Poly. First week - main admits, second week - waitlist, third week - declines. (All Fridays I believe)
Last year, whether it be Cal Poly or the UCs - emails were sent at end of day….usually anytime between 4 and 5 pm sometimes later. That was at least our experience with Poly and the three UCs applied to (Davis, Santa Barbara and Berkeley)

Just a repost of the 2025 Decision timeline and previous years have followed the same pattern. Normally the portal updates first followed by an email.
2025: A few International/US Abroad admits on February 11, 2025. Admits Friday March 14 6:15 PM PST including some Portfolio based majors. Admits Monday March 17. Waitlist on March 21 around 4 PM and rare denial. Mainly Denials, few Waitlists and Rare admits March 27, 2025 around 12:30 PM PST. Rare admit posted March 28. One International CE admit April 9, 2025.
2025 Waitlist: Admits Thursday May 1, May 2. Few admits (OOS) July 15 and denials.

Many waitlists will extend even into August so that is why all waitlisted applicants need to enroll in another school until they hear.

My daughter got off the Cal Poly waitlist (in state) in July a couple years ago. She also heard in June that she was denied SDSU from the waitlist. Luckily she got into UC Berkeley (no waitlist) and has been happy there. This process is crazy!

It honestly might be today but who knows. As I said earlier, acceptances have been released at many different times over the past few years. Look:
2020: 3/3(tuesday)
2021: 2/23(tuesday)
2022: 3/10(thursday)
2023: 3/10 (Friday)
2024: 3/11(monday)
2025: 3/14 (Friday)

Cal Poly SLO does a weekly maintenance on their systems on Wednesdays which is why Acceptances are never sent on Wednesdays.
