Are admits always released all at once?
I think they are released in waves but I’m not sure.
No. Cal Poly can be very frustrating this way, as decisions are released in batches. Many admits come out in one batch, but some might still trickle out later. See the beginning of this thread:

I understand that decisions come in waves, but do the waves come in waves throughout a day? Or is this something where they are all there for today? Unfortunately mine says awaiting decision.
It can take time to upload the decisons so be patient. If your portal has not updated by the end of the day, then I would say you will need to wait for the next round of decisions. Unfortunately a long and SLO process if they stick to the same timelines for last few years.

Thanks. Was thinking about torturing myself throughout the day by checking over and over, but I think I’ll just go about my day and check again when I get home.

is it major specific or should most of the people who got accepted should be receiving it from the portal right now
Normally the portal updates first, followed by an email up to several hours later.

Decisions have not been major specific for the last few years but the first wave historically has been only admits.
I was just coming here to ask that. I don’t check my son’s portal but I do check his email and he has just gotten one from CP that says his decision is awaiting. I’m hoping that is good news. My older so graduates from CP this June. It’s been a great experience.
