Cal State Long Beach Class of 2028 Waitlist Discussion

Below is some general information about the CSU Long Beach waitlist. Unfortunately, CSULB has not posted any waitlist data for the last several years so there is no way to gauge your chances for being admitted.

  1. No specific timeline for waitlist admits. If space opens up before the SIR deadline, then students can be pulled from the waitlist.
  2. Residency type and major are not broken out for the waitlist
  3. The number of enrolled waitlisted students is not listed.
  4. No LOCI’s since CSU’s do not consider demonstrated interest. Opting into the waitlist shows your interest in attending.
  5. Opting into the waitlist is by invitation only.
  6. You cannot appeal your decision while on the waitlist.
  7. There is no way to know your chances of getting off the waitlist so you will need to enroll in another school until you hear.

Please post your stats and good luck.

Watching the pot boil for waitlist announcements.

Question for others doing the same - what do we do about housing? I’m super worried if DS gets off the waitlist…he won’t have anywhere to live and won’t be able to go.

I know they have get togethers and social events for students attending but wanting to live off campus so maybe they could consider living with roommates in a near by apartment? Or maybe any family/friends out there

Just received a letter stating

“ Hello xxx:

We were sorry not to see your name among students who have committed to enroll at the California State University, and we don’t want this to be the end of your academic journey.

If you would still like to earn your CSU degree - at the campus of your choice - we have a program just for you. The CSU Transfer Success Pathway is designed for recent…”really strange letter? Is that seriously their rejection letter? kinda half-assed.

Nvm just called admissions and they said that was just if I wanted to transfer after going to a community college  false alarm folks
