Hi everyone. I have a question. I’m planning on transferring to cal state Dominguez hills from saddleback college in the near future. I’m aware that to be eligible for financial aid you can’t exceed more than 180 attempted units. Do only transferable courses count towards those attempted units or do the non transferable courses on my community college transcript also count? I have more than 90 attempted units on my community college transcript. Let me know, please

Not to worry. CSU only accepts for credit up to 70 semester units earned at a community college, although they will give subject credit for classes taken past that limit. So if all your schooling so far has been at a CCC such as Saddleback there won’t be a problem until you’ve taken 110 at Dominguez Hills.
It’s hard to find this info on the CSU site although they have it on many CCC sites such as https://catalog.vcccd.edu/ventura/transfer-information/transfer-csu/transfer-csu.pdf and you should be able to confirm this with your transfer counselor at Saddeback
Thank you! I’m glad to hear that! I took more units than necessary at Saddleback because I changed majors and got a Certificate in Music Production Entrepreneurship before transferring. I disqualified for financial aid at that community college due to exceeding the 90 unit timeframe to receive an AA degree.
