Caltech Class of 2029 Official Thread

dont you guys think that if for example ~200 ppl got in (at least 150) RD, reddit would be filled with posts/comments from at least 50 people? i only saw 3-4 accounts that claimed to have received the email? like, this certainly cant be ALL admitted ppl - thus there’s still hope?

My thoughts exactly. I think all the people that received them were admitted, but not all admits received them, if that makes sense.

yeah yeah - cos theres no way the leftover 100+ ppl are just nonchalant about it LOL

We got the email. Not instate.

Crazy that at this time last year I was shooting for Idaho State University and now I’m tweaking in the CC Caltech thread

No email but a text from the AO saying congrats on admission (not a CA area code so I think it’s a prank but checking if anyone else got a text from their regional AOs if they didn’t get an email)

LOL what

Things are getting crazy. We will all figure in. Almost 2 hours.

Plus if they sent it to all the admits what would be the point of the acceptance letters, deadline and decision time riddle. It’s probably just something they send to a few admits randomly to keep the awaiting students hyped up I guess (?)

Unless it was by accident :man_shrugging:

Like Caltech nerds are having fun ahahahah? I would definitely do such thing if I were a part of admissions office

Waiting is the hardest part isn’t it? This is the perfect analog to Schrödinger’s cat, except instead of a quantum wavefunction it’s 9000 anxious students

i recieved the email. does this mean i am accepted?

congrats! yes most likely you are

quite late, but my portal banner disappeared starting like three days ago… also didn’t get the email

maybe!

did u check NOW?

Imagine if a student who received that gmail celebrated with his entire family last night and this morning, and when they opened the status, a rejection letter appears. That would be the most brutal rejection of the year.

Congratulations! At least some of us got in)
