Can someone tell me the pros and cons of attending an open house vs a regular campus tour? I see there is Fall open house next week and one in November as well. Thanks
Anyone waiting for their decision on spring 2025
Hello, my D25 submitted her application on Oct 12. What is the deadline to send in the high school counselorâs letter of recommendation? For EA. Thank you.
Today, my D25 received an email titled: Action Required: Activate your CWRU network ID. She submitted her application a few days ago. We canât quite figure out how to activate the CWRU Network ID. Are we the only one? Any chance someone here is able to give us some guidance? My D25 entered the pin, her last name and birthday. But it keeps saying error. Thank you.
I think thatâs what D25 did. I donât think there was anything special so she may have to email admissions to ask.
Also, try a different browser. I feel like there was a time recently when one browser didnât work but another did
My son had to do a password reset before he was able to successfully login.
Case says : âItâs always a good day to visit us on the campus of Case Western Reserve University, but our open house days are really special. Visit CWRU for an open house and you can meet faculty, tour campus, explore our study abroad options and learn more about our focus on hands-on learning all in one jam-packed day.â
So they will have faculty, study abroad, hands on learning easily available for you to interact with whereas on a tour you may have to arrange that yourself if you had interest.
We were offered $27,000 in merit during the 22-23 application year. Did not qualify for need based.
Hello: My son is considering apply to Case Western ED. Case Western, however, is the only school Iâm aware of that appears to have a lower acceptance rate for Early Decision applicants compared to Regular Decision applicants (26% v. 29%) per the Princeton Review. Does anyone know why that is? Does Case actually apply stricter criteria for its Early Decision applicants?
I think you may be looking at the Early Acceptance rate (not the Early Decision rate). Case has both EA and ED. From what I can see, Case doesnât publish its ED acceptance rate
I got these statistics from the Princeton Review (the Best 390 Colleges.)
My son is current freshman. He received 30K per year and COA is about 54K for us excluding his personal expenses. He applied EA last application year and got deferred. Then accepted with merit during RD cycle.
My D25 submitted her app a week or so ago. Just received an email from CWRU, asking if she wouldl like them to consider her SAT scores.
We allow students to choose whether they would like to be considered with SAT or ACT results, or as test optional. Our records indicate that you **will be submitting SAT or ACT scores with your application.
Why would CWRU ask again? My D25 scored a 1490. Does CWRU want to see a higher score? Their CDS is 1440-1530. Just wondering if this group has any insights.
We received the same email. DD had self-reported her SAT already. We interpreted it to mean they want it submitted through College Board, but we could be wrong.
Thanks. But it also says only if you are enrolling to CWRU that you need to send official scores. I am confused. Actually, in the portal, every item is received except âawaiting test scoresâ. But my D25 already self reported in the common app. Is she supposed to self report again in the portal?
I donât know the answer to self reporting, but D25 applied test optional and received a version of that email saying that they see she applied test optional and that nothing further needs to be done if thatâs her intent. So it seems like some form of this email went to all? I remember from older Sâ22 that they send A LOT of emails!
You can always have your child ask their Admission Counselor âŠ
Our Dâs portal indicates everything was submitted, so it sounds like maybe they just didnât see your self-reported score. I agree to contact the admissions counselor.
Correction: D said she actually did self-report SAT through the portal to clear out the missing notice. Sorry for the confusion!
