Chance me and Match as a student from NJ [3.7 UW, 1420 SAT, biology or neuroscience]

Alright thank you

Yeah ur right, I just had a lot of things on my back + procrastination, but I’m fixing that now. I just finished my first draft, but I think its kind of bad.

There’s a forum on that website with dedicated readers. Follow the required process and you’ll get solid feedback on your essay :+1:

Ty I will check this out

UPDATE: Ok, got some advice for my essay, and it turns out it’s generic, so I’m redoing it again. My counselor wasn’t here, so I could not submit a transcript form, but another problem for my college apps is that the Nov 1 deadline for some of the colleges was already due on October 3rd. So if I submit it on Friday, I’m already 23 days late… Honestly, I’m kind of panicking, but I have tomorrow off to work on college apps.

Which college was due October 3rd.

No need to panic. There’s lots of colleges.

First thing.

Make a spreadsheet.

Each row gets a school.

Mark down the app due dates.

You don’t want to miss those.

From there on each school you can see documentation time.

After you do that, see if essays are required. If it’s not you can apply. If it is, work on completing.

One step at a time.

You are letting things get in your head.

Slow down. Baby steps and have a list to work from.

Thank you I am

This year a lot of EA/priority deadlines that are typically Nov1 are Nov3 because of the weekend.
Might that be what you saw?

Remember your priorities this week: 5 SUNYs, Rutgers, Rowan, NJIT, TCNJ.

Did you get advice for your essay from vetted readers on this website? If so, that’s very good for you. Having a day off will also make things easier. No need to panic.

Don’t forget to get the form to your GC tomorrow. :crossed_fingers:

No, it’s just a rule my counselor has. Like, I need to give her a transcript 20 days before a deadline. So for Rowan and the SUNYs, I didn’t fill out a form which have deadlines early in November.

Your GC is not going to block you from going to college because of a form and an arbitrary number of days, it’d look bad for her record. So get that form to the Guidance office ASAP. Colleges are used to overwhelmed counselors and accept materials submitted by high schools up to 10 or even 15 days after the student’s deadline. You’re fine. Get YOUR apps in by the deadline. That’s what colleges will use.

Quick question, where can I post my essay for someone to read?

Yeah I’m not getting a response

Careful there with suggestions. If I remember correctlyLECOM limits # of students per college. (10?) All big public colleges probably already have all seats taken. LECOM apps were open in August…

I agree that Princeton is too much reach for you. You need realistic reach.

Yes, if I remember correctly Geneseo (a small school) only has a few spots.

Majority of LECOM DO linked schools are private and some religious. That is why it is hard to secure places at few linked public (who would want to pay private school tuition.) Limit is the same (or very small) for all schools big and small. So LECOM works best in case of small private. It is first come first served/get. If a student applied to LECOM in August, they may have decision in October and reserve spot in one of SUNY schools. If a student applies to LECOM in October or November, they may not get a decision until April. So all LECOM linked public (and some private) schools that the student applied to may have no LECOM DO space by April.

Wait Im confused so should I not apply?

Summary of the above:
You should apply to SUNYs, not to Princeton. It’s too late for the SUNY/Lecom partnership (that someone mentioned upthread) but it doesn’t mean you wouldn’t have a shot otherwise, that’s how most SUNY premeds get into med school.:+1:
