Chance me for T20s after not matching [VA Resident, 4.45/4.00 W, 1500 SAT, Fire ECs, -1500 SAI]

Excellent advice.

Also, try to be more concise.

I should mention that the extra ECS were not all included, those are just there that I may have talked about in certain supplementals and to give more reference in what I do in my free time.

For example, I did not include intended to start CMA and EMT training in my ECs nor my additional information, but I mentioned on how I could contribute to campus by volunteering as an EMT with my certification in supplemental (that was for Upitt for which I already had gotten in)

Thank you for the words of advice. I should mention that I had completed in total of 70 applications (I redacted a lot since it was basically every single liberal arts college in SCOIR)

Please come back and tell us how you make out see we can learn from your experience. There are numerous admissions experts on CC but most of us are parents (like me) who are sharing our unique experiences and pulling for you.

Just completing 70 applications suggests your determination will compel you to be successful in whatever you set your mind to. Good luck once again.

Horrible scheduling issues

Just wanted to say, I got into the interview stage of REMS (50/2000 or 2.5%) with 21K + 3.5K Research Stipend for Rochester; I also got into USC.

Regarding BSMD programs…just don’t. Very few ā€œpremedā€ hopefuls coming out of high school actually go to medical school. College is a maturation process where you find your real passions. At this point in your life a BSMD is a literal setup for failure.

Hey guys, Im not sure if this thread is deleted or something but I have some interesting updates and some interesting theories.

For acceptances since Feb 8th:
W&M Full Tuition (W&M Scholar)
Grinnell College (30K Scholarship Full Aid)
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UC San Deigo
FSU (Full Tuition)
Oberlin College (Full Aid)
Carleton College (Full Aid)
Middlebury College (Full Aid)

As for Rejections:
MIT
Caltech
WashU

Now, here is my theory. I have some reason to believe I may be getting yield protected (for the exception of CMU and Uchicago cause that could easily be just merit). But I have been waitlisted from many Liberal Arts Colleges that I feel that I should have gotten in. I may be coping but after said acceptances above and USC I thought I would have gotten into a few of the schools im gonna mention:

Waitlisted from:
Skidmore College
Denison University
Haverford College
Northeastern University
Colorado College
Case Western Reserve University

University of Chicago
Carnegie Mellon University

Still got a lot to go, but I dont know whether to be optimistic (as getting ā€œyield protectedā€ could spell good things for the future) or the opposite and getting waitlisted means a bad omen.

Thanks guys

Congratulations on your acceptances!

Don’t dwell on the rejections or waitlists – their loss! – they are just a part of the college admissions process.

You have been accepted to many very, very good colleges and universities. I think that deciding from among the very good choices that you already have could be tough.

Personally I would forget about the schools that you have not been accepted to. You can get a great education from any of the schools where you are already in.

Plan to work hard wherever you end up, and make a strong effort to keep ahead in all of your classes. You are on-track to do very well.

And congratulations on the great list of acceptances that you have received, and congratulations on the very good financial aid that you have been offered at many schools. Best wishes.

You have a great list of affordable acceptances already. Please stop thinking about the places where you didn’t get accepted. Look forward, not backward.

You have been quite fortunate in terms of your acceptances. Even if you got no more, you still have some wonderful choices! Congratulations!
