I would say yes since they give priority to EA applications but accept apps until the regular deadline. It may be worth checking the portal. My daughter’s AO advised her to submit mid-year grades when she was denied from her first choice major but moved to the RD pool for her second choice. The FAQ suggests they may need more info when deferred. Hope this helps!
Look at Chapman’s Common Data set…gives all kinds of info.
Awesome thank you guys! She just looked at her portal and it didn’t mention being moved to her second choice major. So finger’s crossed!
They didn’t asked my daughter to submit a mid year report in 2022 but they asked my son to submit which we did. Do you know why they ask specific people to submit a mid year report?
I am not sure in general, but would love to be a fly on the wall! In our case, we were proactively looking into what we could/should submit as we were already submitting a second supplemental creative application (rather than being deferred). We clearly wanted to communicate ongoing interest and potential, as many students are particular about only one Dodge major. Maybe it has to do with major, popularity, or if it is talent-based? E.g. if you are taking an upper level math relevant to the pre-reqs for a major or are stretching artistically?
My DD was not asked to submit a mid year but we submitted one anyway because in common app it said a mid year report was required.
Can I ask how this looks in common app? I am curious because we emailed a transcript individually to admissions and when I asked my daughter if she had to do anything else in common app, she said she was notified a mid-year report had been sent. I was assuming the counselor did this… is there something additional the student has to do? So nervous and confused about the midyear processes at all the different colleges. Thanks!
Within Common App…go to Chapman…then click on “College Information”
Recommendations:
School Report Required
Mid Year Required
Final Report Required
Teacher Evaluations(s): 1 Required, 1 Optional
Other Evaluation(s): 0 Required, 1 Optional
My DD’s high school uses parchment…we had to go their to order transcript to send to Common App (Pd like $7)…then notification goes to the high school …then counselor will release. YOu can see in the FERPA tab of Chapman…what was sent by School Counselor
One thing I didn’t know since we did it that way was the mid year then automatically went all the colleges she submitted apps for on Common App…weather college required it or not. She was ok with this as her grades were awesome…but I could see where some may not want that to happen. And would rather submit transcript individually to each collage. More expensive that way but then you can pick and choose who see its
Thanks! Maybe we will do this. Great midyear report, so it would be easier to have it go everywhere. Unfortunately, our school was slow and did not release official/systematic transcripts/rankings until late February, so we had to request and submit individually. This is really helpful.
Chapman is in, accepted
So excited for you and for our DD, also accepted!
Accepted! Dodge BFA Documentary and broadcast journalism. Crying happy tears. Long road on this one!
It was brutal today. Rejected at Chapman, UC Irvine, UC Davis and LMU.
I got waitlisted but am really shocked… this was suppose to be a safety school for me and I applied business. This is my 3rd waitlist in a row and I’m kinda getting annoyed at this point. I just want to get in somewhere
We took the campus tour (flew in from NY) and he attended 1 or 2 virtual sessions. He just wasn’t prepared to apply ED unfortunately as he wanted to have options. It all works out!
Hello, all. Looking for appeal advice… I am curious whether anyone else is seeing major discrepancies between the projected merit from the NPC and actual award letter? Others who have posted with stats similar to D24 seem to have received an award equivalent to the amount indicated on our NPC rather than our actual award.
Does anyone have insight about the best way to proceed with an appeal, especially now that the need-based aid estimator has been taken down? Trying our best to navigate this process as Chapman is D24’s number one by a mile.
Hi,
My daughter committed to Chapman last week as a Theatre Performance major. It was the visit there that did it for her. She said she felt at home as soon as she got on campus.
Congrats!
Just curious whether anyone has received a final financial aid package or merit review yet? We are trying to be patient but getting more nervous every day.
My son received a merit package when he was accepted.
