Me !

i m really worried about my college application right now, since i haven’t got the green card yet. And i only been here for a relative short period of time. Plue low family income!!! i need a miracle to get in community college

“there absolutely NO media coverage on chen shui bian” in any province outside of Taiwan…

be glad that that there isnt two half an hour a day of coverage of that mess on your local news like here

but it does get funny… that leader of the anti-bian called ma yingjiu president mao… lol… and this random speaker messed up the down with bian up with taiwan into down with taiwan… seriously it gets funny

but i wanna see the kind of news like about a jiao and the paperazzi…

come on ykm, u been here for all this time and u dont believe?

i think half my cc is international (ok i dont know sth good to say so i say sth random)

JinFX, where are you from?

changsha / xiangtan

OK, I’ve been really busy lately and haven’t been able to keep up with news.

What’s going on in Taiwan? Elections?

anti bianism

百万人民倒扁运动 A million voices against corruption

lol anti bian translates to anti corruption

the situation is so stupid, these people are calling for him to step down right?

ok imagine he steps down… first letter to his house, ok since u stepped down we are now highly suspicious that u really did have a hand in the corruption

so as u can see… the protesters (ok its really just that one guys that leads them) are antagonizing the situation… if they dont want corruption, how about a law suit? how about evidence

seriously tho (as far as i know) his 女婿 had no way of selling those positions without him or his wife to help… and i think his wife did sth else too…

but they cant really force him to step down, and they really made the situation such that he is unable to at all (from what I know)

o yea and the shape that the protesters walk in… the guy that came up with it never said what it was, just that it should be obvious and even if its not it will be… what can it be? i think it looks like a person walking…

US is about to attack Iran, what are they gonna do about Iraq?

where is the PLA right now? o yea the navy is in San Diego, what a time be a douch

remind anyone of the Song? …mad corrupt gov feeding off oblivious economy while enemies wait patiently and undisturbedly at the borders… at least Song had some ownage generals, but do we have any left after the revoluntionary generation?

jinfx if u like she i suggest you listen to 张韶涵. she has that pop-ishness, + an awesome voice, + nice songs (隐形的翅膀,香水百合) and it doesnt make u tired of it as quickly. (刘亦菲’s voice is lovely too)

JinFx, sounds like you have a fair share of comments on Chen Shui Bian’s issue. Malaysians here don’t have that kind of privilege to voice out their views, even constructive ones. You’ll be send to ISA anytime in Malaysia.

o yea i know 张韶涵

lol i dont know anything about Malaysia

I may spend some time in Malaysia if I decide to study abroad in Singapore lol. Im leaning more towards time in South Korea or Japan though. Japan would be nice since hopefully i can pick up enough Japanese to watch anime with subtitles.

beijing 2008 fsho

Im definitely spending a summer at Tsinghua (got to love the spelling lol) in 2008 or 2009.

Also was browsing NY Times and came across this article: <a href=“http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/22/world/asia/22elites.html?pagewanted=1&ei=5087 &en=7d8df3f481547142&ex=1159156800[/url]”>http://www.nytimes.com/2006/09/22/world/asia/22elites.html?pagewanted=1&ei=5087 &en=7d8df3f481547142&ex=1159156800</a> I found it really funny lol when they mentioned that some “rich” people in China have absolutely no manners which is totally true. During the summer Iv encountered many many snobbish people who think they are on top of the world lol and having absolutely no clue about what this “world” is. I feel sorry for those kids though since they are like the victims of their parent’s mentalities.

wade and gile were noobs

That’s a sad article.

lixuelai, great to hear that you are coming to Malaysia. It’s a great place to study and of course good food too! Which part of Malaysia are you heading?

wow yea read the article and its just too sad… rich ppl everywhere r just sad, but these ppl…

I’m from Taiwan and am still in taiwan. Only a US citizen by birth, plan to apply to US schools, but have no sure idea which schools are good choices. Wonder if any of you can give me any advice?

my stats here:
SAT:2200/800/800/800 (i’m worrying for my CR, on which i scored only 680)
TOEFL-iBT:111/120 (conversion equals 640/677 for paper based)
EC:3rd place in National Mathematics Fair, first place in Taipei City swimming contest for two years, ranked 10th in the selection for International Biology Olympiad contestants, choir club for 3 yrs, 2nd place in choir contest…& internship at the Academia Sinica 8hrs/wk from 10-12th grade.
school record:excellent
rank:6/1059

i go to the best high school in taipei (ranked no.1 based on our entrance tests), so i’m guaranteed a very good university in Taiwan. I’m applying to US colleges simply because i want to give it a try. Please tell me how I’m able to raise my possibility of getting into even reach schools for me and any opinion you have for my stats. I won’t apply to safe choices, cause i’d go to the states only if i get accepted at a really great school (which means highly ranked, for my parents) I’m thinking about Caltech, though it’s definitely a reach. I’d apply to UCBerkeley, also.
