<p>My child is trying to determine which offer of admittance to accept for Jazz guitar: NYU Steinhardt, NEC, SUNY Purchase, Peabody, New School or McGill. He was accepted in Steinhardt Honors Program, so he may get some money. Peabody offered significant money and the others smaller amounts. As a parent, I am thinking he should attend a university as opposed to a conservatory. Also, does it make sense to pay 40 or 50K for a music degree or is a state program, such as SUNY Purchase equally respected in the music world? Any thoughts?</p>
