Choosing undergrad business schools [admitted to IU, Purdue, GT, Rutgers, Binghamton]

Thanka for the feedback and he will likely choose finance as his major. Will check on the availability of entrepreneurship as a minor option…

Marketing can also be a good minor option, but nowadays as a major Marketing must be backed by a solid data science or statistics or informatics minor or cluster of courses.

Your child can email directly: is there a business honors program and is there still time to apply or is it invitation-only?
(This would solve the problem if very large classes).
Is there a Business or Business-related Living Learning Community?
What courses are considered weedout?
(The typical answer would be calculus and microeconomics but some universities have quirks). How strong is your child in these weedout subjects?
Then you can look at the AP credit equivalency chart to see if your child could skip the class (actually skip if and only if there’s no required upper level course in the same subject because they may not be prepared enough otherwise - but even if they could skip, the existence of such a credit indicates a relative similatit between the college course and the AP -not always true - so not claiming the credit should give them an edge vs. A required class they’ve never seen before).
How competitive are business clubs? Is there an academic business fraternity (different from a social fraternity)?

It may or may not be dependent on the student - talking about school size or class size.

I’m sure Bing is fine but not in the other’s league. But if he’s seeking entrepreneurial opportunities, he should ask about them.

Bing isn’t known per se but unless I’m missing something (maybe NY regional hiring), its stats seem best. I double checked to make sure they are undergrad.

Purdue’s seem lowest - but he wants entrepreneurial spirit - I’d find out who has that. Had he known this up front, he might have chosen differently - but I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the three and it could be Bing delivers best (surprising to me, I’ll have to study more).

Thanks

Here’s some more related to entrepreneurship at each - you might have your student talk to kids at each school - and get their thoughts.
