Class of 2011 from Nepal...lets discuss here

I agree. The US consulars are not there to reject people. Once they are convinced that you are not going to US with the aim of working, they will give the visa. And they come across so many students having to pay almost all money, which shows that they will not be studying, that students who have good scholarship will without difficulty get the visa.

and intl-transfer, where you got?? anywhere
i am applying next year transfer i think cuz 60% of my colleges already rejected me. waiting on some impossible ones.

yeah…good point made there my buddhaforever there…I totally agree…at least for the sake of getting some ‘fresh air’ after going through tons of consultancy based applicants paying huge sums of money to small colleges… I presume they will easily give visas to ppl getting into big colleges with almost full ride aid…

Are there any cases in recent past that someone who got into decent college with decent aid didn’t get the F! visa?

ah…the visa thing…tell me… will A who is willing to pay 14k(including insurance, transportation, room and board, orientation fee and other mandatory fees) for a school in New York or Boston have an advantage or disadvantage over B who is paying 11k for a college in Iowa or Missouri??? also considering that A recieved 20 k scholarship while B has 7k and both schools are not so well known but have fairly good number of applicants this year? this is just a hypothetical question and doesn’t refer to any school.

Ah, ToUSin007, nice to c u back…where hav u been for so long?..

issac- u got in somewhere?

to shail- one of my friends who got in with a full tuition was denied visa but was given in the second attempt, along with an apology from the consular saying that they were wrong to not give her the visa the first time given the amount of scholarship…

to TOusin- i think there should not be a problem with school A unless the consular happens to know about B. The events are mutually exclusive if the alternatives are unknown. some stats terms

buddhaforever: that’s the same question I ask myself everyday!!!..

i think you did not apply to some safeties… is it

I don’t know how much my friend needed to pay, but he in spite of 82%(in +2) and 2030 SAt was denied VISA
HE also mentioned that a 2100 guy was rejected because he had I-20 of Newman in Kansas and had to pay around 10K
The lady counselor is quite strict in terms of VISA

Be aware of her

buddhaforever: I have applied to Indian colleges indeed…can’t say whether they r safeties…

be prepared and they should come up with a good reason to deny your visa…

yeah…way to go…

has to be the cruel lady I was talking abt in the other thread. guys, while issuing the I-20, the colleges ask us to show an amount that is equal to or greater than total cost minus scholarship/aid/grant. isn’t it? so why do ppl say that we need to show an awful lot of money at time of interviews…and also, wat’s with this CA evaluation and rent and lease agreement and all that…can someone come up with a standard list??? do we have such??? Coz I wudn’t want to hear the consular say that “THIS” document was missing.

only those ppl who have nominal aid need to show aweful amount of money to my knowledge…the least amount u gotta show is that amount by which u can sustain yourself in the US…(without having to take up another American’s job)…regarding the documents…well it would be ‘staying on the safe side’ philosophy…I don’t know about the rent and lease and stuff but CA evaluation is a pretty easy thing to make…I know it isn’t obligatory as such but ppl don’t want to take cany chances…I mean the actual documents that are required are so less compared to what ppl usually make in this part of the world…so my suggestion would be…make everything and stay chilled!!! :)

exactly…just be confident and don’t freak out in front of the consular. he/she will think you are not prepared or trying to lie or something… make sure you are prepared with the documents and try to make it a fun and a learning process… guys there are many stuffs to learn besides what you learn from the books…

shailesh,or anybody else, cud you please list for me the list of all documents that you have made/will be making. if you can then also mention what were the extra documents that you got ready to be on “the safe side”. Thanks.

is there anyone who can give tuition to +2 students??? just asking…

hehe…yesterday only i declined an offer to do so buddhaforever. her parents said they wud give me 4k for the one month tuition. hehe (wud have been a different story had those 4k been in US dollar!!! ;))

No where. Two Left but I don’t expect and I don’t think I will apply again. Good luck for the rest and/or for next year.
