just say u r gonna stay on campus

yeah…that would be the easy way out…

btw… my VISA has been approved!!! yippie!!! :):):)

congrats shail!!!..

hey, congrats shail…ani this question might sound funny but i’s wondering if there’s any dress code for visa interview?

i went in jeans and a hi-neck…looked cool but punk…

congrats shailesh. just to know how things are going on right now, what was the ratio of acceptance to rejection of visa before your name was called out? I mean how was it with the consultancy bound applicants?

As to the dress code… Well i guess there isn’t anything as such…Dress properly and u will be just fine and about the ratio… Well i was the first one to give the interview, so i ain’t got much clue…Best of luck to everyone!!!

shailesh…I read other ppl posting their interviews in other threads. it wud be really helpful for us if u cud post yours. at least for me it will :)

well…regarding my interiew it was anything but unusual…the same less than minute conversation…3 questions…some praises…and those golden words from the lady consular…

the three questions were

How did u know about ur college?

Why did u choose this college?

Why did u take a year off after your A levels?

She kind of applauded my SAT 2 scores as well as my financial aid…

And at last she said “Congratulations shail… your visa has been approved”

And that’s it…that’s how my interview went…just be cool, calm and collected and u will do just fine…the bigger ur financial aid…the lesser the fuss…I kind of got the feeling that the whole interview thing is just a formality…they will have made their decision beforehand…I guess with the interview they will be just finalizing their decision…“that’s my personal opinion only though”

Anyways…relax and be cool

congratulations shailesh! and thanks for those tips:)

yeh. as u have mentioned it shailesh and since many of us took a year off, how should we approach that question from the consular? Like they know most of us Nepalese kids apply after high school, but still what would be a better way to deal with that question? I am currently working as well. will that help?

I posted in this thread one a long time ago and I saw that it was at the top of the international student section and I’d like to say congrats to all the kids who got into their first choice school.

I’m an American born Nepalese kid (and honestly, at lot more American than Nepalese, lol) and my family still has a house out in Siful (I think thats how you spell it.) Either way if you have any questions about what lifes like out here in the US, or the “states” as you all call it, i’d be more than happy to answer.

Just outta curiosity, how many of you are coming out of St. Xaviers or St. Marys? I know those are two of the better schools in Kathmandu.

Congrats Shail!

thanks a lot mate!!! :)

As to the the question regarding break after high school…well u could easily answer that question in your own fashion…I mean I had said that I wanted to do something different and I told her that I thought I needed some time more to completely mature as a person before college… I guess we all had answered this question in our college apps long time back…so just refresh your memories and you will have your answer right there !!! :)

goldenjet, where in Siphal(it’s not Sipul) do u have your house? interesting as I live there too :)

yeh. I think I’ll have to cut short the essay that I wrote then. thanks shailesh.

so where is everyone…???

I have the same question. I was waiting for somebody to post after me :)

i am posting after you

hey are police report n migration certificate must?..i have been receiving mixed comments about the requirements of these doccuments. so could someone pls tell me if we really need these?
