Lincoln offers APs. it costed me 83 dollars per test.but may have rised slightly. if you want to take it contact Minush Rajbhandari at Lincoln School. you can take APs in MAY. so, you should probably contact 2-3 months before MAY.

nepali69…u are joking right?..give me a freaking little break…u got 770 in every test you gave and (very weirdly) somehow u think u screwed up your SAT II exams?.. come on…which world do u live in…at least in the world where I live in…anything above 750 is more than a handful… you might be a true perfectionist but…hey…u need to do other things as well like sailesh said… so chill out dude…ur SAT II are just fine :)…ur SAT score isn’t bad as well…1490!!!..that’s awesome…
Good luck ![]()
PS: I only had 1390 and somehow I managed with that :D

nepali69…I totally agree with sailesh and shail. Don’t retake any SATs. Your scores are more than enough for any damn good school. But scores won’t get you in.

so this thread is alive again…

how is truman state university? is this good for undergraduate? …i m really screwed, got nowhere except this one…and few others not very well know colleges. plz help me.

Yeah Truman is good for undergraduate.
I have heard it before.

How much do you need to pay there?

I applied there too but needed to pay a lot. So, I quit the plan to go there.

Both shailesh recommended me to work on other things and esp. essays.
and essay has been bothering me for months.

How can we characterize a good personnel statement?

College websites mention that it should give a sense of how we think and our personality is.
But, everything we do, write and like to see give impression of our nature and habit. don’t they? Then why do we need to write what happeed to us, what we learnt or just…

to conclude,Wwat makes an application essay impressive?

the essay that gets u accepted… primarily that’s impressive
hehe but then…there are certain pre-conditions for a decent application essay…as the name implies…it should be personal…let there be no flaws in your grammar and structure…make it soothing to read (with the flow)…be careful with run-on ideas (unnecessary ideas)…the thing is…try to provide the perfect icing on the cake…since u already have awesome scores…just talk about something which would highlight you as a person who is more than the books and who has that “X” factor to succeed in the closely knit college community…I think a lot has already been said on this…the thing here is…let your essay run parallel with your scores…and I guess u will do just fine…

Best of Luck!!!

alchemist5, Truman doesn’t give more than 6k in aid isn’t it??? so how much do u need to pay…even with 6k, it would be around 13 k I guess. anyway, best of luck.

btw, even I have an I-20 from Truman since they didn’t require any deposit to get it. I used it to go to the Visa info session at USEF :)

u r right ToUSin007. Truman gave me the scholarship of just 5k and i need to pay around 14k in total i.e. including lodging, etc. don’t know how is the university but wanted to go coz i don’t have any other better option than this. Hoping to transfer after first semester. in Truman, i m planning to study physics, …is it possible to transfer to any engineering colleges after studying physics for few semester? …i want to go for mechanical engineering and Truman have facility of 3-2 engineering which takes around five year just for undergraduate…correct me if i m wrong. I also heard they don’t give a decent aid for transfer. Plz suggest me what should i do to pursue my engineering degree?

nepali69: The essay which makes through, are the ones which incarnates your qualities, your thinking, your personality, you passion, your world, your skills and YOU in the mind of the adcom! (Take each end evry point of what I just said, view it through various perceptive and then you will get a master piece of yourself!)…

hi. how do u pay for the SEVIS? I heard that it’s done when we apply for the Visa. so do we pay the SEVIS fee to the bank ppl when we apply for the Visa? and were your forms DS-157 and DS-158 handwritten or typed? thanks

to onthe lot

as far as i know, SEVIS fee should be paid online or by western union. also, u must have to take the receipt of SEVIS fee while taking date for ur VISA appointment. obviously, there is no harm if u write with hand on ur DS-157 AND DS-158 forms.

oh. will someone kindly tell me how should I do this then??

go to Nabil bank…I think they will have certain provisions for paying the SEVIS…in my case the college had paid it and had sent the receipt…so it wasn’t that big a fuss for me…

for u it wasn’t necessary as u’re going to Lafayette. u mean we can make the payment at Nabil Bank itself while applying for the interview? so is it $100 + another $100 for SEVIS?

yeah…$ 100 SEVIS fee+ $ 100 VISA application fee + Rupees 1000 back processing fee (as I had applied from outside the capital)…pretty expensive huh… it surely is
…or should I say was… :D

thanks shail619. so we don’t need to do anything online as somebody said?

as far as I know…I don’t think u need to do anything online as such…but then it would be better if u would confirm it from somebody else coz after all…I didn’t go through that process of paying the SEVIS fee…
