no_novice – 57

Wow. I am the fourth highest contributor here. But I think it shud be more than 57. Really. Most of my posts have been in this thread. Anyway, whoever Shivani is, congratulations to her. Although not a CCer, we are still getting to hear some good news. Guys, if ur college friends get into some big schoos then post it here like Mandark8 did. At least we get to know who is going where.
Welcome cricster.Shail, I would still want u to get Vassar. Keep the hope alive. Best of luck to those whose decisions are yet to arrive. Comfy, Maichang everyone.

buddhaforever, u go to Elmira don’t u? U mentioned it somewhere right? and yeah safeties will be with us when everyone gets us rejected. so I would also say, love your safeties guys

How bad is a deferral anyway??..what are the odds of getting in Regular?

personally I would rather be rejected than deferred.
Because unless you keep contacting Vassar and showing that you REALLY REALLY want to attend and/or somehow improve your stats, I think that deferral == denial in April. (which hurts a LOT especially after being deferred in RD)

Think of it this way, the only time when colleges DEFER ED applicants is when they think they can fill the remaining spaces with better applicants through RD.
Now in case of an international student applying for aid, colleges would obviously want to wait for RD and then decide who to give aid to (since aid IS very limited). So ED was never really a good choice for fin aid, because the last thing colleges want to do is give out a lot of aid during ED and then have to reject a lot of super-applicants during RD because of a lack of finances.

Well, by saying this I can be called a hypocrite , because I applied ED to Colgate, but then again, I applied ED because I really love Colgate and I wanted to give it a shot, even if I ruined my chances in the process.

At least you were lucky enough to receive your decision so early. Colgate only sends decisions through US postal mail and I guess I’ll have to wait till Christmas for my rejection letter.

Well its not a problem contacting the admissions office showing my interest regularly (coz i really am) but regarding improving the stats…how am i supposed to do that as i have already graduated and the next SAT is in the end of jan…

Congratulations Shivani ! And Shail, don’t worry man. Being deferred ain’t that bad. I have heard of ppl getting deferred, waitlisted and accepted at the same college. But I wish u never have to go to the third stage. Stay in touch with the college. Don’t be sad yaar. Best of luck for you RDs. I hope you have a lot of trouble in May in choosing to go to one college from the many colleges that will accept you. ![]()
No isaacnewton, I am not an EDer. Just RDs for me. I guess you are an EDer. All the best yaar.

I hope for that trouble… come this may…hehe…

cricster:Naaa…I m not an EDer either…all RDs…;)…

congrats shail619…u just hit 500!!!..:D…

Shail, congratulations on your 500th post. Let’s hope what u have written in it comes true.

hey crister where r u from, i mean which college?

yew hoo…at least I have some reason to celebrate along with the deferral…the 500 th post barrier will no longer be there for me hehe…
