Class of 2011 from Nepal...lets discuss here

ya you are right Shail. An individual can be better than other regardless of their stats. u never know.

yeah…so i am very optimistic as well as not so optimistic…

but i was hoping for a lesser competition in IUB round 1…doesn’t seems so now…

I read your stats profile btw and you are ahead by miles than my friends. so if you are really hoping for IUB then forget about them. They won’t even bother you. actually, you seem to bother them. hehe

really…that comes as a big relief…only a couple of weeks to go for the IUB round 1 decision i guess…

so what’s up with other guys and gals around here?..not done with apps yet?

But I never brought IUB in my consideration. I mean, for me all this hard work is to get into a good school in the US. We apply to around 15 different schools in the US and suddenly when a school from Germany( I know very good) accepts us, what happens to all the dream of going to the US? we forget everything? I am saying this as I have only one thing in my mind. my username. so no offence meant to anyone. But you people are doing really nice by keeping options which we should always do. I wish you get to choose between tons of US schools and IUB too.

when does the IUB decision arrive? do they send it in email as well?

yeah…it’s the Big american dream after all…truly irresitible…but don’t take it for granted that the german university will accept you…u need to be good to go even to germany…no easy pickings these days…with so many ppl applying from Nepal…

I have heard they send it by email…

ya. with the increasing number of applicants from Nepal, IUB definitely is a tough place to get in. so if they send it in email then that should be easy coz you wont have to wait for long.

this cc is really addictive. ever since I stared posting( yesterday that is.lol) I have been going non stop and I feel like posting after every 5 mins.

ani ToUSin007 where r u applying??

My college list.ummm. may be some other day coz I am not really sure if I should share it here. I hope you don’t mind. Anyway, how good is a 3-2 Engg program if we manage to get into a fairly good LAC, say in the top 50 or do you people suggest a four year degree?

first of all…sharing college list won’t do much wrong …especially after jan1 …and regarding the 3plus2 engineering…it’s a good idea at least…not sure if its actaully that good…especially in terms of availability of fin aid…which ever dual engineering college u might choose…i bet there will be milllions of clashes from Nepal…literally…

Hey you can also do your undergrad majoring in physics and/or mathematics and go to a engineering grad school.

thanks intl_transfer. that is an option too. In that case we can attend a four year LAC and then go to a grad school for engg. btw, what are you doing in the US?

Do u really want to do engineering?? ask to ur heart? if its abt money that u’ll looking for then engineerin ain’t goin to be the ez path or if its culture that ur pursuing then u’r a fool.

I’m pursuing engineering bcoz I want a carrer in gaming industry, I don’t care abt money much. The only thing that I care is whether or not I’ll be satisfied with my major and job that ultimately bring happiness.
So guys don’t u choose engineering blindly only by seeein’ others doin so or following the third world prestige of culture. If ur passion is on mathematics or physics, do those major straight. Well I think u’all got wat im sayin’.
;)

yeah…I totally agree with porkey…so i am keeping all my doors open for computer science…

yeh. Porkey what you said is completely true. But that is not the reason why I want to do Engg. I want to do it because i don’t think I’ll be comfortable doing anything else but Eng. As you said, I don’t care abt how much money I’ll get after doing it because then I can say that I did for myself and not for the sake of earning good money. At least I’ll eb satisfied with what I am doing.
