Class of 2011 from Nepal...lets discuss here

nepali 69 are you talking about grinnell?

titanium…
maybe you could go to a so so college this year and try applying again as a freshman next year… though i don’t know this is allowed or not but i know a person who accomplished this successfully

Hey guys
Once you enter in US even a second you study, you will be considered a transfer student and most good colleges don’t offer any aid to int’l transfer

So, going to “so so” college can be a better putoff idea

No, not grinnell

Has anyone of you been accepted in EDII?

hey nepali69…why are you putting us all in the dark???..would it mean a great deal if we were to know your college name???

oiiii
b>>>r>>>d how r u???caltech k bhai rako cha?

his name is
b>>>>r>>>>>d

nepali69 must have his reasons for privacy…i respect that…
nepali69 got a good scholarship at a not so competitive college as he mentioned. the logic is simple i think…if you reveal the name of a not so good college that gives such good aid in public then i think what happens is that all the bright and brilliant students on CC will apply there as a safety and get accepted, but will go somewhere else, just gobbling up the seat which could have gone to a student who matched the college’s caliber but got rejected because better students applied…perhaps a bit mean but the truth…

yeah…that could be a valid reason…

btw…what is everyone upto these days??

yes, but isn’t it a bit too late to apply now?
I mean except for a few rolling decision colleges, aren’t all the deadlines are over on March 1st.

btw…what is everyone upto these days??

^^
I have my boards from tomorrow :P

Best of luck for your exams aritct. Let’s see…nepali69 got his decision well before March, which means it was a college having rolling admissions. Even if it was not rolling admission and say the deadline was gone for us, the point I tried to make was different…suppose we all know the college’s name but the deadline has already gone…we won’t apply but won’t we tell our juniors about the college? and what about the prospective class of 2012 on CC? Guys, please don’t take me in the negetive sense here…contemplate nepali69’s own situation…he said his activities were ordinary and critical reading score was below 600. but still he found a college that gave him such a wonderful financial aid because his other stats(academics) were great…let us leave such not so competitive but kind colleges for hardworking students like him and not think about making them the safeties of students with wonderful extracurricular involvments and academics who are destined to make it to top colleges…if a top-notch student finds such a college from his own research then good for him but let’s not make it so easy by just posting it on CC so that thousands of top-notch kids flood the low tier college’s gates with uninterested applications…it’s like there are two people at a bakery with only one piece of bread left and one of the two is hungry and poor while the other is not hungry but he is rich…he buys the bread by paying more but instead of eating it he throws it away in the end…the hungry guy watches in vain…I guess its the same feeling with the rejectee…just my personal opinion…

thanks a lot cricster!

But I am not saying that top-notch students should not have safeties…they should…everyone should…but everyone should search for their safties themselves…
the main thesis of my argument: let there be a balance in the college eco-system

if anyone’s looking for a safety…william carey…fourth tier college…u have to pay 4000 per year

I do not think William Carey would be better than KU… there is nothing to study there…

KU bhaneko???

Kathmandu Univeristy…
