Class of 2011 from Nepal...lets discuss here

yeah…since so many ppl had applied to IUB this year…it’s no wonder that so many are being taken in…

so as far as i know…2 from bnks and 5 from xaveirs got into Jacobs???..correct me if i am wrong…

Now it’s 2 frm bnks and 6 frm stxc in total

actually i have been told that 4 people from bnks got in in round ii. shail619 you can confirm this with the guy who you know has been accepted in round ii. he told me about this.

congrats aritct, being admitted in early write is something really great…

Trust me when I say this, but I was the most surprised of all…
(especially since Richmond was practically my second fav…)

congrats aritct…which one was your favourite then?? i presume colgate…wasn’t it??

davincicodes…‘the person’ told me that it is infact 5 from bnks…that’s pretty cool news

shail619 do u mean in total or in round ii alone!! but most of them wont attend iub so many have a shot in round iii i guess.

aritct, can you post your stats?? everyone wants to know the stats of those who get admitted!! i am no exception!

@ shail619 – in ED it was Colgate (suprisingly these days I realize that Colgate wasn’t really my “ideal” college. I guess I applied ED only to increase my chances of receiving financial aid.It was a big mistake, especially with a 2120 SAT and no SAT 2 scores.)

In RD…its YOUR ED COLLEGE!!!

@ davincicodes –
ok sure

SAT1 – 2210 (750 CR 740 M 720 W) [combining best of last two SATs]
SAT2 – 770 Physics, 720 Math 2

Recommendations – ok I think
Essay – I really don’t know whether it was good, bad or ok. I wrote about my goals, and why I wanted to study in a liberal arts college in general. (something like “I love Computer Science but that isn’t the only thing I want to do with my life —> hence liberal arts college”)

Grades --11th grade was just baad. Fell ill before the exam and landed up with a 55% (wrote a letter explaining this).
12 grade was ok – 60%
Took MOST demanding curriculum available in school.
Top 20% in a class of 36 students who were accepted into the Science Stream in my school.
(My school has severe grade deflation)

ECs (through 9th-12th grade) –

aritct, which saint xaviers college are you talking about?

St. Xavier’s Collegiate School (my high school) in Calcutta, India.

and no, I’m not a passed-out student. Am taking my ISC (Indian equivalent of 12 board/final exam) right now xD

And thanks shail and davincicodes :)

davincicodes…how can u say noone’s gonna attend IUB…this year…no one can guarantee the colleges…especially with so many ppl applying…

Congratulations aritct! you have got great stats…no wonder you made it and it won’t be surprising either in the RD round when you will be getting into more colleges…by the way how did your boards go? all the best for your results dude…

how abt us cricster :(…heard from any school???

so how about Regular decisions??? when are they coming??

@ cricster – thanks  Let’s hope all goes well for everyone in the RD round.
I was really worried about how my grades would look in my application though…T_T
boards are going on…doing last-minute prep as usual, especially after I got the acceptance letter, can’t seem to get myself to study…

@ shail – my decision was an RD decision…the rest should be heard by the first week April

good luck aritct…I have my work cut-out for my ED college then…thanks to your awesome stats…

@ shail – my stats aren’t really awesome…

and you don’t need to worry because I think they should be considering students from different countries in different pools…soo…
best of luck to you too :)
