can we apply to more than one college in EA??

Mostly yes, but there are few colleges that have restrictive/binding EA. Varies with colleges. You can apply to as many colleges you want for EA , but only those that have non binding EA.

cc is so dead this year

Tell me about it. Sigh* I have gone through previous years’ threads and get disappointed seeing ours.

hey guys, I’m registered for the oct 1 SAT at St. Xavier’s but I’m not sure about the timing of the test. What time does the test start? and at what time should I reach the test center?

i sure you have the registration paper…u can get all the info there…

You should reach the test center by 7:45am and most likely the test will start from 8:30am or so. It will end at around 12:30-1:00 pm.

well ppl in here… Just wanted to know how can one register for the SAT examinations from here9Kathmandu), I went through online registration but it requires Credit card payment, got none of it , besides registration i heard we could choose 4 colleges free of charge for sending official scores to…where will i find that, huge dilemma …

Go to any bank( albeit I’m unsure all of them will help) and they will register you for your SAT. I think the deadline for Nov5 SAT exam is on Oct 7th. Register fast, else you might not get seats.

@josephite: couldn’t agree more!!1

well thanx for the Info, but is there possibility that i might not get seat, Will there be such rush for registration as 3 test centers are there i guess…i am planning to do the registration 1st week of oct.

Yeah, the possibility is high. There are seniors, even juniors, and the graduates. Many of them will have registered for SAT II as well. There are those who would want take re-test.So, do register early.

Is it true that applying for an EARLY DECISION improves your chances of getting into a good college?

The colleges I’m applying to requires it’s students to fill CSS profile, but the application is so cryptic and costs about $25; Would it be prudent to ask the colleges to accept ISFAA instead?

there’s no loss trying. Many colleges would prefer CCS, but i think they would consider ISFAA too. I think its better to correspond with your college about that.

Yes, many colleges prefer ED applicants because applying ED shows you are really interested. However,if you need heavy aid and the colleges are need-based with insufficient funds they might just defer/reject you. But all in all ED>RD. It does not hurt to try ED.

@User95: Thank you for the suggestion. I just got a reply email from my college saying ISFAA won’t be considered, and CSS is mandatory( Hmphh!!!) .

ahhh… pity… try begging a bit more though. if you know any current student there you can ask them, that’ll be a lot of help. i think people usually use ISFAA, though i’m also a bit of a novice in these matters. :/

I’ve just sent an email to a current student there, let’s see what she has to say on this. I seriously pray that they would waive the CSS requirement an accept the ISFAA. CSS is such a pain in the ass. Novice? Not really. You seem like a pretty “Know-it-all”, in a good way though! We need someone like you here. Thanks for the help :)

I have a question…I heard somewhere that if we increase our sat score by more than 200 the new score will be canceled. Is that true guys?I am having trouble here>>>>>>>>>>>><

What rubbish!! Not at all! Collegeboard can’t cancel any scores.
