Class of 2016 from Nepal

Not all colleges accept ISFAA instead of CSS. So, I would suggest to keep a copy of CSS. It’s 25$ only for the first college. After that it’s 9$ per college or sth.

Ok, Liberalartslover: You can’t possibly think of persuading a college to change its rules. That too, just because its difficult! >.< I have heard how CSS profile can test one’s sanity. Glad that I don’t have it. Just get help from those who have done it before. Good luck!
And Rocker2, I don’t know where you heard that from but it is just absurd. Like REALLY absurd.

@EyeAmMe and @Josephite: Well, many colleges do accept ISFAA instead of CSS profile; but I’d rather not take the risk. Thank you for the suggestion and information.

uhh guys, it doesn’t hurt to make a CCS profile but why pay if you can persuade your college to accept ISFAA?

@User95: Exactly my point! Why take a difficult route when there’s an easier way out.

^ I do agree. But seriously, do you guys want colleges to see yourselves as people who aren’t capable to complete a darn profile which actually most people do? Although it depends on what reasons you give them. If its about the $ then, yes perhaps, they would not think so. But I really don’t think we should risk giving them the wrong impression.
Good luck again!

well i know someone who requested the CCS profile to be waived and used ISFAA for ALL colleges that someone applied to. You should make your point clear while sending the email. Its always safe to send a CCS profile, yes, but if ISFAA can work then we have to try at the very least!!!

Definitely.

hey, many nepali students that are studying in the states have received only tuition-waiver, meaning they have to pay their own living expenses which would be around 10k a year or higher…does this mean their parents cover those expenses for them?..or do they rely on on-campus jobs to cover their living cost?

that depends on each students’ case.

It differs from college to college. One’s financial package might have loans,work-study programs or so. We cannot generalize anything. You should ask your specific college for such minuscule details.

We are supposed to use ISFAA 2012-2013 right? But it costs a lot, what should we do?

Isn’t it 2011-2012? And can we not just scan and mail? I did so last year, but i had informed the colleges about it.

@gemsgrad you don’t have to buy it from collegeboard at $500. I have it and many others at CC, as I would assume, have it. PM me your email address and I will mail you one.

^ Yeah. I mean, we can just download it from the college website itself. Who would pay $500.That is insane.$.$

@EyeAmMe One my my friends who applied for Fall2011 used ISFAA 2011-2012. So, aren’t we (Fall 2012) supposed to use the 2012-2013 version? Did you use ISFAA 2010-2011 last year?

I guess I’ll have to check the college websites first.

@specific Do you have the International Students Certification of Finances also?

Thanks.

Everyone is asking for ISCF from one another but none has got it so far. So, I would like to take this chance to call for those guys who have ISCF. Share it guys( and yeah gals too)

This is weird. I downloaded both the forms from my college and they are both the 2011-2012. Let me go research once again.

Guys, so I was wrong. It is the 2012-2013 forms that we ought to fill and I got both of them. Do pm me your email addresses if you want the ISCF form.

I am not here to brag or something, but eventually most of the people here wont get the colleges they applied to. For those of you who dont have a good stats as mine, do apply to the university of maine, orono. Althought it has a pretty low rank in the US news, its engineering department is known through out the east coast. Also it provides full tuition scholarship to international students. They give 10 full tuition scholarship each year. Rather than going to a low ranked liberal arts college, I highly recommend you to apply to UMaine.
