Jazz - of course. It takes more than a day for Gibson to reflect receipt of something, especially since they got it on a Friday. If it doesn’t show complete by the end of next Thursday, you then might want to confirm they got it OK.

so even though it says my app is incomplete, the admissions office may be reviewing it/ may see it as complete?

Sure, there have been people that had their app marked complete and gotten a decision on the same day. But there is no way to tell if that is true for your app.

My first acceptance! So excited!

Congrats, Bingo77!!

the first acceptance letter is a special one! It relieves some of the stress knowing you have been accepted into a program of your choice at a great school ! Enjoy the moment, you have worked hard for it!

@Bingo77, what was your GPA and test scores if you don’t mind me asking?

D got her acceptance today. So happy!! Her sister is a sophomore here so we are one happy family!! Now we wait to see what kind of scholarship package she will receive …:)

How do you get access to Gibson? Was I supposed to be emailed a code or something? On my Application page it said “Congratulations You have successfully submitted your application to Tulane University” but I have no idea how to get onto Gibson…

Just go to where it says “lost password” or whatever and they will send you the info.

@Terri338: Thank you so much! It feels awesome.

@jack1995: I don’t mind at all!
GPA: 4.0/4.14
SAT: 2200 (M: 690, CR: 750, W: 760)
ACT: 34

Bingo - You going to try for the DHS or the PTA?

If I applied today, would I head around December 15 or sooner?

If you apply EA or SCEA, then of course. The deadline is December 15 for notification, so you have to hear by then or sooner.

Following up on findingneema’s question: Does Tulane send a new user name & password once the app has been received? My son received an email as soon as he applied, thanking him for applying with instructions for downloading his application package. The message also included his Tulane user ID & password, but those are not valid in Gibson. After hitting
‘forgot password’, the reply was that his email was not registered with the system.

I would not have expected to have received access to his portal only 24 hours after filing the app, but it sounds as though others here have been able to check their portal that quickly. I just want to be sure they have all of the required documents since they sent auto-generated emails to both my husband and myself, stating that our son still needed to submit documents that had already been submitted.

So, if anyone knows if access to Gibson has to be extended to the applicant, can you please let me know? Thank you!

@fallenchemist: Yes! I’m applying for both.

CT1417,

My memory is that you go onto the Gibson login page: https://gibson.tulane.edu Once there, even though he does not yet have a Gibson username, click on the ‘Forgot Username/Password’ link. You’ll be prompted to enter an email address. If you enter the email address on your son’s application I think that you’ll get a quick robo-response where he’ll receive an email titled “Gibson Login Request” that will contain the info he needs to check his application status.

Good luck.

Thanks AsleepAtTheWheel—that is what he tried earlier and received the ‘your email address does not match our records’. Hopefully that does not mean anything and they are just inundated with apps and trying to pull everything together. Will have him keep an eye out for some sort of communication. Thanks again.

I wouldn’t wait. It sounds like either another email address was used or Tulane has a typo in their system when they entered it. Call admissions, they will help him get on to Gibson.

Thanks FallenChemist–will do.

ACCEPTED! I’m super excited, and I wasn’t expecting to hear back for weeks! I sent in my application less than 2 days ago, so I’m surprised/happy that they turned it around so quickly. Just for reference for others:

GPA: 4.4/6.0 (doesn’t sound very good, but I’m at one of the most competitive schools in the country and a 4.6 is average here…that being said, about a third of each class goes to ivies each year so I’m fine with my grades)

SAT: 2240 one sitting (800 W, 710 M, 730 CR)

Very good essays, ECs and recs in my opinion
