Thank you, Fallenchemist!

I really enjoyed his “why Tulane” he talked about visiting the campus during Crawfest and among the 5-10 students he met in passing, he didnt see a single one not enjoying their experience at Tulane. He really liked the recreational center so in his essay he wrote about it helping to stave off the Freshman 20

At Dolphinlvr6- there’s a very good chance I will be spending a lot of time in New Orleans over the next 4-5 years. My niece is a sophomore studying Public Health at Tulane and they are very close. He has always wanted to be there with her. He is trying to decide on a major - Engineering or Business. If he chooses Engineering he will attend TAMU. If he decides business he will attend Tulane. He wants to work in the Petroleum field and really likes the Masters of Management in Energy program that Tulane offers.

For those of you who’ve received a decision, did it come by email or snail mail?

So excited the Admitted Student Portal was up and running yesterday! As soon as my parents were home, we sat down and submitted the deposit. I chose JL and Paterson as my first and second choice residence halls. Anybody else chosen theirs yet? Also very happy that this morning I received my official Tulane log on and email address. EVERYTHING IS OFFICIAL!!

Wow, good for him! Both sounds like fabulous choices! What a decision to make! Did he like TAMU as much at Tulane? They are so different!

bquiroga96- my son selected Wall and Patterson as his choices. He really wants Wall.

bigdaddy88- the first acceptance notification is posted on Gibson, no e-mail notification. A few days later the official letter with any merit scholarships arrives.

Congrats to the newly admitted students…

Don’t worry too much right now about which dorms are selected as 1st and 2nd choices. The students will be re-asked that question much later on - when it REALLY counts. And even then, some students still don’t get their 1st or 2nd choices.

dolphnlvr6- don’t forget that students have to “apply” to live in Wall. Just a bunch of fun/quirky short answer-type questions. I put the word “apply” in quotes because there were some students last year who never even applied and were placed into Wall. Perhaps there were vacancies to be filled. I think applying to Wall may be one of the sure ways to get the dorm you want because if you’re accepted, that’s where you’re placed (except for human error of course).

I received my acceptance yesterday-- sort of shocked but very excited seeing as I know for a fact that I didn’t submit any SATs and ACTs!!! Anyone else like me out there?

NO!! that is crazy. do you have amazing GPA?

is tulane a top choice?

I mean I have a 4.0. And I like the school a lot, I don’t really have a top choice yet! But yeah it seems like it is very strange I was accepted without test scores

dolphnlvr6 - I considered Wall as a second choice also but I read more and really fell in love with Paterson . From what I’ve watched and read they are both have really great communities. Wall is pretty cool in that it, in a way, emulates the residential college set up that Yale has.

Maggie - As was suggested on your other thread, your school probably erred and included your test scores on your transcript, and from there they were input to the electronic file Tulane created for you. But if you are concerned it is an error, contact your admissions officer at Tulane.

In the paper letter you received, did they offer you any kind of scholarship?

No I didn’t receive any scholarships. I don’t think it’s a mistake though because I received a letter and it said I was admitted on the website. Maybe I self report my scores on the app and I just forgot.

When I say mistake, I don’t mean you are mistaken about having been admitted. I mean someone else erred, because you shouldn’t be admitted without some source of your test scores other than your self-reporting. If that is what happened technically it would still be an error by Tulane. What were your test scores? And is your 4.0 weighted or unweighted?

I just figured out my mom actually sent my scores without me know, HAH. Whoops, I’m stupid.

Mystery solved!! Anyway, congrats on your acceptance.
