it’s so hard not to worry at this point
been waiting since October…trying to stay positive.

i know it’s so hard. Trying to stay positive. but after all the stats everyone has posted, not sure he will get into other schools he applied to. It is so competitive.

Why would you assume you will be deferred when people posting on this very thread this evening were accepted today??

Has it occurred to you that Tulane receives tens of thousands of applications, most of which are in the EA cycle, and they are most likely working crazily to process/decide on those applications as we speak? I doubt they “save” the deferrals for last. Several posters on this thread have noted that, in previous years, acceptances and deferrals were received through December 15th. Why would this year be any different?

Patience is a virtue, my friends.

I’m not sure if this was addressed earlier but I was just admitted today and was wondering if I find out about scholarships right away (and therefore didn’t get one) or if Tulane sends scholarship information later?

Congratulations, George! You will receive your formal letter of admission in a few days and if you have been offered a merit scholarship, all of that information will be included in the letter.

For those who were just deferred or will be by next week, please refer to this link FC posted a few pages back on this thread. Very informative and worth repeating if you haven’t read already. “I’ve Been Deferred. Now What?”

My son was notified of his acceptance close to, or on 12/15 last year. Please do not assume that if you haven’t heard yet, you’re automatically deferred. Keep the faith! :-)

Thank you OHDAVID! You are right! Patience is a virtue.
We will sit tight and whatever will be will be. :)

Keeping the faith over here too! Staying away from Gibson for a while…and CC…I love his forum but I’m getting overly anxious…taking a step back…will check back in on Friday …fingers crossed everybody :)

Accepted today
Checked on Gibson early this morning.

Stats
ACT: 29
GPA: 3.66
ECs: Very good, lots of leadership
Essays: showed good interest, emailed my admission counselor a lot

From the Aug 23rd edition of The Tulane Hullabaloo (regarding the recent incoming class of 2017): " This year, we focused not only on accepting students with the highest test scores and the highest GPAs, but we really looked at what the student could possibly contribute to Tulane…So you may hear about more students with a higher academic ability who we didn’t admit." It also mentions that for the first time Louisiana was not the top spot for enrollment, New York was number one and California was number two. For those who have not been admitted yet and may be worried, let your rep know what you can contribute to the university. I tried to upload the article here but was unable.

FC or others - just noticing that Dec. 15 (PT and DHS scholarship deadline) falls on Sunday. Does that realistically mean that they should be mailed on Saturday to get a postmark before the deadline?

We wondered the same thing so son mailed it on Monday just to make sure it gets there before Friday just in case.

I really am not sure if they extend the postmark deadline for that. Certainly getting it mailed by Saturday would be best, but a call to admissions is the only way to get a definitive answer.

How long did it take for response?

The PTA can be faxed.

This thread has been very helpful. My daughter received her congratulation message today. Going to the check application stats link, click forgot username and passcode and a new username and passcode will be sent via email. Origin and the message is there. I don’t this is clearly communicated to folks who are waiting. My daughter applied Nov 8, SCEA, Louisiana resident, 4.2GPA. 28 ACT, Full IB diploma student, lots of EC and leadership. Good luck to others.

My friend received his admissions decision today, unfortunately he was deferred. I’m a little worried because he had better stats than I did. The two of us applied on the same day. Is the fact that I have not gotten my decision yet a good thing? Does this mean that they maybe have looked over my application and are stuck between acceptance and deferral? Or does it mean nothing. I’m so nervous, just hoping my Why Tulane? response is as strong as I thought it was.

Whaddup y’all. Defferrrrrred today.
ACT: 30
SAT: 2080
AP English lit/lang: 4 and 5
GPA: 3.7
Lots of involvement in the arts/music, service work overseas and a buttload of local community service work. Not sure why I was deferred, as I felt my application and my essay were pretty solid. Oh well. Off to a bad start with the college app process.

@rugby96 honestly, weirdly enough, I called admissions to confirm that my app was being read as Early Action and within 30 minutes my application status was changed to deferred. If you call them they might notify you sooner, I dunno, maybe it was just coincidence.
