Did hear some are transferring to Missouri State MT who weren’t happy elsewhere. But it won’t effect incoming Freshmen.

@21stParent D is still waiting to hear from Viterbo as well and she auditioned at Chicago Unifieds. Also waiting on NYU, WMU, and Stevens Point.
Does anyone know if there’s a group for accepted Millikin students? FB, Snapchat, instagram, whatever? My D has been looking and can’t find one. Supposedly she’s seen kids get attitude for asking questions like that in Courtenay’s breakroom because it’s insensitive to kids who didn’t get in so she’s not asking there ?

Thank you, it is good to know we are not the only ones…son auditioned at Chigago Unifieds, too. I hope both our kids hear something good from all our outstanding schools, soon!
On another note, waitlists are preferable to No’s but are their own brand of torture, aargh! Here’s to yeses and fast moving waitlists that notify asap!
@frisbee3 Have your D ask in the Kick Ball Change the World Facebook page…my D tells me that is the one for discussing acceptances! Sorry I don’t have a more direct answer.
@frisbee3 I would contact the main contact for the MT department to see if they know. Last year, we had to contact our son’s school to find out if there was a group, and in his case, they had a student put everyone into a group on various social media, etc.
@frisbee3 yes there is a group for accepted Millikin students - I think it’s on FB. My D is in it; I’ll ask her the name when she gets up.

@frisbee3 I think if the parents and kids want the schools to be sensitive in how they run their auditions and ultimately when and how they notify students, then I think it’s a good thing to remember that all of the other kids - and parents, for that matter - gave it their all in their auditions to get into their dream schools as well. So it seems to me that using the phrase “She has seen kids get attitude for asking” with a “laughing-so-hard-you’re-crying emoji” gives an impression that they are sore losers and you think it’s funny. I would bet it’s more that they are extremely disappointed. You never lose anything by being kind and understanding. And my D did not apply to Millikin so this isn’t personal to my D.

Has anyone heard from Western Michigan yet? D is still waiting on Western Michigan, Wagner, Ohio Northern and NYU. And with NYU, some of you said it’s 50/50 admission into MT with talent/academics. Does this mean the MT program looks at your talent for half, and then actually looks at your academics for the other half?
@AGMomma - decisions at NYU are made by NYU admissions, not the individual schools. So for Tisch (or Steinhardt) the audition process results in an artistic evaluation which is sent to admissions. The admissions committee considers that as 50% of your application with the other 50% being academic. Realistically I think this translates into a wide variety of acceptances - some super strong performers may squeak by with marginal grades and scores and some less accompished performers with strong academic records may also be admitted. From my D’s experience she feels everyone at Tisch is both smart and talented. So it seems to work out.
@AGMomma my D and a few others got WL notifications via email for Western Michigan on Sunday evening. Not sure about acceptances or whether it was an all at once, etc.
