@katzenbogen My son had the same thing today - an email about accepted students day but no actual acceptance letter yet. I suppose it could be either, but assuming in our case it’s artistic because I think his audition is stronger than his transcript at that school. 
American has a funny acceptance policy for academics. They place a really high value on whether you show interest - we knew applicants who got in with lower stats when higher stats applicants (with similar ECs) from the same school were waitlisted.
For WMU, D hasn’t heard yet but assuming a no - portal changed major from “Pre-Theatre” to “University Studies”
My D was accepted at UCLA for the BA MT. She found out on the portal.

@katzenbogen I emailed the coordinator of MT at American, who confirmed my S was accepted into MT. He said letters would be coming it this week.
@MomofJ5 - My son didn’t apply to UCLA - He is currently deciding among three BFA MT offers - Ball State, Hartt and Wright State. He has visited Ball State and Wright State and will visit Hartt with my husband in the first week of April! Thanks for asking! Getting close to decisions!
@honar01 You follow the instructions, accept and submit the waitlist statement. You won’t know until well after May 1. All info will be on the portal. They rarely go to the waitlist for MT (or for any major) but…you never know!
@collegeboundSam My D auditioned at AU as well for the BA MT and received an acceptance letter but it says nothing about that major. Can you please tell me, does being accepted at the school mean an acceptance in the MT program as well?
@azmtmom13 @EastchesterMom @mtmom13 Thank you all so much for the great input. I guess we’ll have to see what the “big fat package” actually says. If it’s a yes, it throws an unknown into the whole decision-making process that we’ve been going through.
We are thankful that our S has options. And a yes would be nice. But, honestly, I know that there are several here who are still waiting for that first yes. Many of those people I now consider friends. I would rather my S’s USC decision be a no, than to see others not get that yes. That’s truly how I feel as we come down to the wire. That’s where my mind and heart are right now.
In case anyone is wondering, Memphis sent BFA notifications last week with scholarship notifications coming this week. If you haven’t heard, you should check.
@Mempho my d got a bfa acceptance from Memphis earler this year. You don’t hear much on these boards about that program. Any Memphis folk out there?

NYU and BOCO should be this week, right? These are the last 2 my D is waiting on. (Except for RCS which is on a different timeline). So ready for this process to be over!! She seems fine, but I’m sure my cortisol has been elevated since January.
