@32barMom Thanks for the info! It just seemed strange, but maybe that’s just how OCU does it. Haven’t heard from the Theatre school, yet. Hopefully, we will hear from them in the next few days. She auditioned at their last audition date. D is a dancer, so the BA Music isn’t a fit, but she would consider the BFA Acting because it includes dance. She was WL at Wright State for Acting, and it is very high on her list. Is your daughter considering BFA Acting at OCU?

@Myparttimejob mine too! She has a friend who said a fair number of kids were originally waitlisted in her group. Also has a friend (boy) who was offered a spot last week off priority waitlist. Fingers crossed! Is your D considering other programs?
Yes, She is waiting to hear From NYU and MSM this week and is waitlisted at Wright State and CCM. Yours?
@Myparttimejob My d decided to limit how many places she applied to schools she felt very comfortable at when we visited. She’s been accepted at Xavier and waitlisted at Ball and offered alternate track at another. But she absolutely loves Ball.
@32barMom and @mtmom3girls My D got the same from OCU. She’s looking into the Acting bc she really likes OCU, but will prob choose one of her MT offers. She’s got some traveling to do over spring break to look at schools.
@mtmom3girls did you all consider the dance performance degree at OCU? I am not sure if they are still taking video auditions or not. But it has a fabulous track record of working alums. Consistently rated one of the top entertainment dance schools in the country. You can take some voice and acting. And a lot of other interesting classes as it relates to dance and entertainment business in general. I think for good dancers it is an excellent option at OCU.
@vvnstar D did not look at Dance Performance at OCU, although it may have been a good fit. We haven’t heard back from the Theatre school yet. She just heard from Music School yesterday. @CaliMTdreams did your D hear from both schools (Music and Theatre) the same day?
Has anyone on the WL at Penn State received an update since wait list notification?
Years ago OKCU only had the degree BA in Music for those interested in MT. It’s evoled into more choices to major in. So for example O’Hara & Chenowith’s didn’t get BFA MT degrees. They were differently labeled once upon a time. Dancing at OKCU is tops. They have so many that go on to dance on Broadway especially Rockettes. So as others have stated as long as you get the ability to get the training one desires the degree acronyms don’t matter as much as the training. And every school does it a tad differently.
Does anyone know what time the NYU decisions are going to come out tomorrow. I thought I read somewhere earlier that it might even be midnight?!
@Karamiles Someone said that last year it was around 6:30pm EST for tomorrow’s NYU notifications.
They came out at 6pm last year (EST) and NYU admissions tweeted beforehand the 6pm time… so of couse Albert just about crashed at 6 and many people had to wait until 6:15 to get in.

Portal! The email may come at the same time but you don’t have to wait for an email - they do update everything simultaneously. BTW, Albert goes down for a bit right beforehand so don’t be dismayed if you can’t get in at 5:59. lol - see, I know you all.
@Kkrazie - OCU still does not offer a BFA in MT. As it was when Kristin and Kelli were there, it is a Bachelor of Music degree in Musical Theater which many combine with Vocal Performance. Similar to Baldwin Wallace, the MT degree is housed in the school of music while the theatre degree is housed in the school of theatre. And the dance performance degree is in the school of dance. However, Mts take acting at the theatre school and dance at the dance school. So you are benefitting from those programs also.
@CaMom13 - do you recall when NYU tweeted the time - i.e. in the morning or more closely to the release time? Will be on the road tomorrow with spotty reception, lol.
@NYDreammom We’ll be on the road too–driving to Utah to visit. It may be a grumpy ride or a happy ride…
