Class of 2024 Acting Artistic Acceptance Notifications: How/When/Where

I heard UNCSA wasn’t doing callbacks in LA? My S got asked to perform an additional piece before his interview. Would that be considered a callback?

@BoBatumBart , did your son’s audition panel consist of one person or two?

When my D auditioned at NYC unifieds, the point of the callback was so the student would be able to do their pieces for both of the auditors. My recollection is that at the info session Scott told us that in the past everyone did their pieces for both auditors (himself and Quinn), but that this year in order to save time they were splitting the students in half, and one auditor would initially each see only half of the students. When all students were finished with their initial auditions, Scott and Quinn got together and decided who they wanted to call back to do their auditions for both of them together. The callback list was then posted outside one of the audition rooms, and the students on it performed their pieces in the order they were listed on the callback sheet.

My D didn’t attend LA unifieds, so I don’t know if this same procedure was used there or not. I also don’t recall hearing from anyone who auditioned on campus whether this procedure was used…but it’s possible I’ve missed some posts.

HTH in some small way!

My S auditioned for both Scott and Quinn! And yes helps a lot! Still anxious but thank you ?

@BoBatumBart , it sounds like the callbacks weren’t necessary in LA, since your son was able to audition for both Scott and Quinn at the same time. Maybe they didn’t need to “divide and conquer” because there were fewer auditioners in LA??? Also, I would think, at the very least, that it wouldn’t be a bad sign to be asked for a third piece!

I thought so! I’ll keep you updated if anything but thank you so much ?

This list is being updated so that we only have the 2020 information on here. Please update as you have information. Thanks!

Xavier — Email acceptances

Utah is letting people know. My son just got ATP acceptance by email today! He auditioned at Chicago Unifieds.

Though the USPS Informed Delivery app I see we are getting a letter today from Evansville. I’ll run home to set the mail aside as S has a performance tonight and he probably shouldn’t have it on his mind. But now it’s going to be on MY mind all day at work and during his show. At the same time he is an adult and maybe I shouldn’t interfere… oh the moral dilemma! Ever feel like we’re all in some twisted reality show?!

@prarie Fingers crossed for your son! I wouldn’t think twice about interfering, if that’s what you think is right… They are adults, but this is a crazy process even for adults.

Xavier — Email acceptances

Anyone hear from FSU yet? We did get an email today from UCF today. Son was placed on WL. Anyone else hear anything?

@meohmyoh thank you! It was an acceptance and scholarship from Evansville! S was beginning to think he was running on false confidence, so this is a great way to end the wee!

My son was accepted to Ithaca’s BFA Acting program. He is thrilled, but we have so many questions. Do their Acting and Musical Theatre programs cross over? Are Acting majors able to take voice and dance?
