Class of 2024 Admissions Decisions

Good luck to all! Preparing for our late after noon deferral! ? But hoping otherwise! ?

Good luck everybody!! Hopefully everyone (or our kiddos) will be Gamecocks by the day’s end!!

@BrielleNJ24 sending POSITIVE ADMISSION DUST your way!!!

@Redi2cruise2024 thank you! Same to you!!

So does University Of South Carolina recalculate all grades to align with South Carolinas grading system?

I just saw the USPS informed delivery picture of the envelope for my D’s decision letter via email. The postage is 0.50 which according to previous years postage amount, means deferred or waitlisted. Please post what postage amount you received. Just curious to know if the “accepted” letters are 67-70 cents too this year. We went through this a few years ago with my older D.

@appsforcollege thank you for posting that you reminded me to sign up for informed delivery which I just did! Good luck I hope it means accepted!

@appsforcollege I just signed up for informed delivery but don’t see anything. Maybe because I just signed up.

Nothing on USPS informed delivery here.

@afbratmama what is pushing up the stats at UGA is the fact that tuition is free for in state residents (You have to meet certain criteria but all admitted students for the most part meet them] Georgia also has several of the highest ranked private schools in the nation. The appeal of paying a few thousand dollars a semester vs a private school tuition is real! It attracts lots of Uber bright in state kids. This combined with Georgia’s dramatic jump in the rankings makes it very difficult to ignore. Last year less than 20% of students at UGA were out of state and they don’t consider state residency in application so everyone meets the same standard. You can see this even more dramatically with Georgia Tech which is top five in the nation in all engineering disciplines. The Hope/Zell tuition scholarship is great for very bright Georgia kids but it does leave a lot of state residents out of our flagships.

This is the first day and a really long time that my DS has absolutely no mail addressed to him and we have no packages…

Nothing on informed delivery here either.

@appsforcollege so that means they sent the letter out before releasing the decisions? Maybe it’s something besides a decision letter?

For those that see something in Informed Delivery, are you OOS? Nothing in our Informed Delivery OOS except Murphy’s Law - “A piece of mail that we do not have an image for is included in today’s mail.” ?

With that said, if I was a betting person, I’d give it a 2% chance of having anything to do with USC, and I’m expecting a deferral at best so make that 1%.

The USC acceptance envelopes I’ve seen on social media are the large envelopes, which do not scanned into the informed delivery system (at least mine never do). That doesn’t answer the question of what’s in your envelope, which may be unrelated to an admissions decision altogether, but I thought it was worth noting that you will not see large envelopes in informed delivery.

I am so positive all the kids of people on this thread will get in, I will ask the NEXT question:

Does anybody know how the dorm selection process works at USC?

They told us on a tour that housing priority is based on when your application for admission is submitted, not the housing app.

@OceanIsle we are right there with you! We are OOS too and have the same one unidentified piece of mail. No way it’s a decision letter in NJ already. Expecting a deferral at best. I’m really rooting for you and all of your kids waiting to hear! Honestly I’ve been following this thread forever and am really hoping to hear many of you get in, even if we don’t!

We are also expecting an answer from Fordham EA today so could be a rough weekend here!

actually that’s a good point of the college acceptances Envelopes in usps. We received an acceptance envelope from another University yesterday and sure enough , it showed up in usps as no image also.

@BrielleNJ24 I thought Fordham EA was Dec 20th? I hope I am mistake and its today!
