My son DM’ed his Admissions Rep on Friday night because he had not received his decision promised that day. She messaged him right back and said, “Check now!”. lol So, he was accepted! Yay! He was offered in-state tuition (we are OOS) which is pretty good, I think. However, an email said that he would received the official offer of merit aid in mid-March. Wondering how likely it is that he would receive more money on top of tuition break? He did not apply to Honors College – not interested in that (at ANY school).

My son was notified of his acceptance on Nov. 15th. He received his packet on Nov. 21st.
There is a private group on Facebook for the kids to introduce themselves, make friends and find roomies . It’s called University of South Carolina Class of 2024. In the group , they also have a group me link so the kids can all get to know each other 
Son received acceptance 12/18 to Computer Science.
OOS and offered in state tuition. Waiting on Honors College decision and Merit aid.
1520 SAT, AP Scholar with Distinction, 4.3 UW GPA.
If he gets merit + Honors it will make U of SC tough to beat!
Has anyone actually reveived their “Yes” packet in the snail-mail yet?
No but has anyone heard about any acceptance for the January 2019 (Spring) session for new freshman?
I think they mailed them On Instagram there was a post that said Yes packet was on the way so I would think they mailed them Friday
Do you know why they offered in state tuition if you are oos? I didn’t know they did that…congrats, that is awesome!! When did he apply?

No news on Honors College, our letter said February decision on that.
@jenctmom He was offered in state tuition (as an OOS applicant)because he had high test scores and GPA, in addition the letter indicated further merit could be on the way, which is very encouraging.

That’s great. I had heard they were not going to be released until Feb. What was the major you selected when completing the app? I wonder if all Honors acceptances have been released (?)
