Class of 2024 Admissions Decisions

@jgwolf definitely will be leaning towards USC if I get in. much closer to where I live and Columbia is in a great location. Loved my tour and it felt like home to me. But VT is a great choice also but I haven’t toured yet.

Good luck. I’m sure you will get in. Make sure you post your results. When do you think you will hear?

They said the week of March 8th but I’m hoping before then! I’m ready to go ahead and decide and the waiting is killing me. Even if I don’t get accepted I have other good options but would love USC.

I’m a little confused as to why as I was accepted a few weeks back, but it seems no one at my school and on this thread really have heard back. Does this mean I am going to get a scholarship or something? I received my acceptance packet but didn’t see anything about money.

Are you in state? I think they sent out some acceptances but it seemed like they were people from SC. I thinl alot of the scholarship info is coming out in March

As an OOS student with a 3.6 GPA and 30 ACT and many extra curricular’s, what kind of scholarships should be expected? if any?

@Abceefarg I can’t tell from your post whether the stated GPA that you gave is Weighted or Unweighted. Also if you took the SAT test are your SAT scores in the average range of scores that may also qualify for the merit aid?

It’s my understanding that they look at test scores (either ACT or SAT) and your recalculated core classes GPA in gauging the OSS Merit aid. Maybe take a look at the different criteria for the Nonresident Qualifications (see below link) included on their website guidelines and it may give more insight on where you may fall. Also remember the qualifications are for both a test score and GPA as opposed to one or the other.

https://sc.edu/about/offices_and_divisions/undergraduate_admissions/tuition_scholarships/scholarships/nonresidents/index.php

Unfortunately someone else may have to weigh in on whether EC’s come into to play as it is not mentioned as one of the qualifications, but I can’t say that it isn’t either. I hope this helps to gives you starting place while we all wait for the aid and Good Luck!

No the merit as far as I know is all based on GPA and Test scores and it has to be both like you said not one or the other. The only thing that is a little confusing is on the website is says 'Average" test score meaning to me some where higher and some were lower.

when my son got his acceptance it has a “minimum $$ amount he would be getting” So at least he knows hes getting something. Others i hear got nothing on their letter but may still get something in March

My son also received his acceptance via email February 6th–out of state business major. Not sure why they’ve sent some out but not others?

I know some schools will send acceptances early to applicants that have higher stats so they will have more time to consider attending that school.

Portal just updated. I got waitlisted.

I got denied from USC.

@jgwolf no I am OOS (MA) business major. I got my RD acceptance weeks back, 1390 SAT and 3.5 gpa. But no mention of money anywhere.

I was accepted! 1230 SAT 4.5 GPA. OOS MA

D got her acceptance today!! OOS in CT!
Super excited!!

1210 SAT 3.5 GPA
Tons of extra/class officer/etc.

Deferred then Accepted!!
recievied VIPID weeks ago

Sat: 1200
GPA: 4.7W 4.0UW
EC: many
Major: Darla School of Management

Accepted! 3.9 W/3.4 UW GPA. 25 ACT. OOS in NC. Biology Major! Acceptance was sent by email. Now I’m literally on waiting for NC State. Every other school has let me know earlier than the expected decision date. NC State had to be the one haha.

D got her acceptance this evening too! OOS in Ohio- psych major. So happy to see so many familiar names getting accepted! It’s been a long journey…
@user9167391 - that’s not a denial- there’s definitely hope. Did they give you a decision date?

DS got his acceptance today for his second choice major. His first choice was in the academic common market. It would not be affordable otherwise.

OOS 3.9 weighted and 26 ACT and community college courses.

DS had already decided on another college with a good merit offer. However, it feels good to have that last acceptance letter.

Good luck to everyone.

Daughter applied early. Deferred. Now waitlisted. Sports Management. ACT 27. 90uw avg. OOS NY. We did get the financial aid login a few weeks ago.

USC is her #1 choice so will likely go on the waitlist. Fingers crossed / waiting on Syracuse but that actually has tougher stats.

Seton Hall looking likely if SU doesn’t work out. We are visiting LSU later this week to get an idea of their sports management degree is any good I bet it’s not as good as Seton Hall.
