Yes a few. Please see the RD thread.
I was deferred from early action in December. Out of state for kinesiology program. If I havenāt received an acceptance yet, is it safe to assume Iām not getting in? and if I do still have a chance, does anyone know when decisions will come out?
@user982419 If I were you, I would write an email stating that Iām glad that Iām still being considered, that UMich is my top choice and I would for sure go there if accepted and given the necessary financial aid (if that is true, which judging from your post, Iām guessing it is), and then talk about one or two reasons why you like the school.
@sushiritto Hi there, just curious, did you ever end up posting the final CC stats for early action acceptances/deferals/rejection? Wasnāt sure if I missed it. My child was accepted EA OOS to Kinesiology (posted this earlier in December when you asked for stats though!)
Iām still working through the info. Sorry itās a slow process with work and life.
@sushiritto oh no worries! Was just curious if I missed it. Work and life first!
Anybody know when the major waves of notification are for the deferred pool? Feb 1, March 1⦠any others??
Come on over⦠The waters warm here⦠Next Friday for you. Should be the next wave unless they change the timing
how do you know?
Hi, I am here to help as I understand as I was deferred two years ago. I have heard rumors that the next wave of admissions comes out tomorrow- February 28th before the University Spring Break (so that they donāt get calls over the break).
There are a couple ways that counselors are looking to ensure some last minute acceptances. These include:
-Ensuring that you email your territory counselor and ask three specific questions about a particular LSA/ SMTD/ Engineering program. Include asking them to connect you to specific teachers in the department you want to major in. Showing interest in internships is a good question to ask such as āWhat are the programs to help students get into internshipsā or āHow does the university work to help the freshman experienceā.
-Ensuring that you say that U of M is your #1 school. If applicable, include videos, photos, or music that describes your passions for U of M. These help you stand out.
-Lastly, I am unsure if this is true or not but it has been said that some counselors accept ādonationsā. These can come in the form of gift cards, or cash donations via venmo. It is more difficult to disguise these but I have heard in the past these have worked.
Also my previous post was obviously a joke if no one could tell
@STDMumich. Funny after I read it a second time but you know some are going to do what you said ?. This is not a time for jokes. ?
Any U of M Ross decisions out for round two?
Two that I saw on the other thread:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/2163813-class-of-2024-regular-decision-thread-p68.html
Have there been any acceptances to CoE and Ross dual degree program.
Have there been any deferred applicants being accepted into the College of LSA? I have a friend who applied RD and has received a decision today and I have been deferred to RD and has yet to receive a decision. Is this bad news? Am I suppose to expect a rejection letter soon? I am really nervousā¦
Are there waves for OOS Engineering?
I applied to Ross as OOS and was deferred EA. I went on a trip in January and submitted the continued interest form in late January. Most of my application was geared only towards Ross and business. I really think I have the stats and ecās to get into atleast LSA, but I have not heard anything from LSA or Ross yet. Does anyone know if I should have explained my interest in LSA in order to get accepted? My Ross application will not be reviewed until I am admitted to LSA and, well, it doesnāt look good.
You should have a better view of your situation end of March /Early April. Too many students, too few spots. Make sure your investigating your other options also.
I was accepted into LSA on Jan 31 after being deferred from EA. I am an OOS female with a 4.0 GPA and a 31 ACT. My ECs were good and uncommon, and it definitely helped that I held leadership positions within each club. I also had a 4-year sport. I assume my essays are what pushed me over the edge, and my letters of rec mustāve been solid.
