@amxn15 Congratulations. So the Clemson Admissions office went from “ridiculous” to “caring.” lol…
Well - that’s a relief for you @amxn15 !! Enjoy Clemson!
@Britmom5 Thank you so much!
@JF1117 Thank you so much!
@amxn15. Dude did you see the lol at the end. I am very happy for you but you need to lighten up.
I was reading the info on in-state scholarships, and I know a lot of students or parents don’t really post about that on here because like someone mentioned, SC state scholarships pretty much gives our students an idea of what the school will also offer. My daughter applied and was accepted last year, and when she qualified for the state’s Palmetto Fellows scholarship, Clemson also added their merit scholarship on that of that. Now, the key is to look through all of Clemson’s scholarship guidelines and then email financial aid to see if there really isn’t any additional scholarship that you can qualify for My daughter emailed Clemson’s financial aid during this time, and asked to see if there were any additional scholarships that she might qualify for, and a couple of days later she received an extra $500/yr scholarship award that came from a specific scholarship name from Clemson. So, don’t just give up. Look through all of Clemson’s scholarships and then email and ask. It never hurts.
@burghdad I wasn’t sure what you meant, I’m sorry. Thanks though.

This is a stressful time for everyone, so let’s support each other instead of throwing shade at one another. The snark ends now.
@amxn15 Did you appeal the summer decision formally with admissions? My daughter is in the same position and has emailed them multiple times asking for detailed info regarding summer and has yet to receive any response.
@Britmom5 Any word yet on your son’s admittance to Audio Tech program. We are still waiting to hear from Jacobs School of Music. Have my fingers crossed for both of our boys!!
@RMSqueencat Hey! Good luck for Jacobs! No - we still havent heard! I didnt want to be THAT mom - so I waited and waited - and finally put a call in last week. The woman in the admissions office said the music department had not yet made a decision. I gather he was acceptable to Clemson as such - but dont know about the program. That would make a difference, as thats what he was interested in We’ve had the same problem with the other twin at PSU for architecture program
@Britmom5 Well that sounds encouraging. I bet you’ll hear by 4/1. Continued good luck!!
@hicksychicks I would email the director of undergraduate admissions (David Kuskowski) at dkuskow@clemson.edu
and explain to him your situation. That is what I did. He then told me that I would be switched to a fall start and they would send a new packet in the mail.
@hicksychicks Check your spam folder. That’s where my response went.
Does the hack work that was posted on page 9? I plugged in my Clemson ID and it told me to enter the number that was on my acceptance letter but I haven’t gotten anything in the mail yet. Thanks
I was waitlisted and that hack also has changed for me… I don’t know if it works and I also haven’t received anything in the mail
Any other admitted students from CA on here who haven’t decided where to accept? DS is excited about Clemson but it’s SO different from home. He wants different and wants out of CA but just wondering if there are any other CA students out there at Clemson and how the transition went.
@2timemom There is a group on Facebook, Clemson University Parents Class of 2023 that might offer some insight. I’m pretty sure there are some parents on there from CA.
@2timemom We are from San Diego, son was accepted to Clemson but hasn’t committed yet. We’ll be traveling there next week for our second campus tour and talk to his department (Construction Science). Also going to Colorado State right after to do the same. Then he will decide - next weekend.
My gut feeling is that he will probably want to stay closer to home in Colorado. Clemson is great, but as you say, pretty far and not close to a major airport - takes 2 hours to get to ATL or CLT to fly back home (flight is 4-5hrs). CSU is an hour drive from DEN and flight to SAN is only 2 hours - easy to visit. Also, in a larger city (Fort Collins), and in our case cost is substantially lower than Clemson ($36K vs $52K per year).
We are also still waiting for Virginia Tech (wait listed), but they will not starting pulling from wait list until May, so he will have to commit somewhere by then. The negatives are the same as with Clemson - far and isolated. But the school is higher ranked and we loved the campus - which may out-weigh. Funny, if he was admitted there from the get-go, it would be over and done for us a month ago, as VT was his top choice…
if that hack works now does that mean i got in? (i was originally waitlisted)
