Clemson does not yield protect.

Meaning they don’t reject if your stats are too high thinking you will go someplace better?

How do you know?

Thanks to you all for filling this day up and making it go by faster with all of these comments so that I do not feel alone and insane!

Yes, the students I know who got in last year EA, including my child, were all high stats and had the best stats of kids applying from their high school.

Ok so conclusion - having buttons either means nothing or is bad

I don’t think deferral is so bad in this case.
Clemson has a low yield. It’s what keeps their US News ranking down farther than it should be.
They have their way, and they’re doing great, so who cares?
But with that low yield, there’s lots of movement March-July.
I know of many people who were deferred EA and ultimately accepted.

Can’t say, my child didn’t look at portal until decisions came out.

Just to add to the mess/ confusion. Did everyone who lost the edit button apply for honors? Maybe honors is only available to admits in a certain semester? So if you got in AND got in honors you have no button? But if you got admitted and without honors you could still change your term?

Completely off the top of my head based on nothing other than avoiding making my bed.

Yes this. I also know kids who were deferred EA who were later accepted.

Oh you actually might be right. I applied for honors and don’t have the button

Kinda hoping some of us who still have the button have it disappear before Thursday
only then will I be convinced that it means nothing! :flushed:

After looking through last year’s threads, that actually did seem to happen last year. Hours before decisions, people started losing their buttons. And that was everyone, regardless of their ultimate outcomes.
