My kid got invited to a private academic campus tour, would prefer not to say which department, but can anyone advise on what to wear? Business casual for parent? What does the male teen wear? Jeans and polo or button down?
Email says it will be personally lead by head of this specific department. Is this normal? My child got deferred by Clemson and we are going into RD now. Is this common? My first kid applying to college here…
Oh wow that sounds promising. But so weird that he was deferred. Maybe it was a case that they were not able to review his app in time and now that they have this is their way of saying hey we are super interested in you and dont give up hope on us for RD
looking back and seeing your sons stats this is definetly a good sign. I remember seeing his stats and being shocked he didnt get in EA. I truly think they just had too many apply that they couldnt get through them all. I wouldnt get your sons hopes up but I truly think that he will more than fine getting in RD
My sister goes to Coastal Carolina University and I’ll be visiting her during my February break. I’ll have to see if there is a place nearby to pick up, or maybe even stop for another tour!
I would definitely make it a point to have your student email your local admissions counselor as well . Start a relationship , ask good questions and speak to their desire to attend . It absolutely can not hurt . Best of luck
Does anyone know if they have notified the NSP finalists yet? Clemson is my top choice and I thought they were supposed to come out in mid-January but saw a person on reddit say they already were notified about it
S24 received a deferral but he didn’t mention an update form to us. Thank you for posting this! What is an update form, and can it be found in his portal? (He’s been managing all of his own applications and portals. He must have missed something.)
Daughter goes to a highly competetive priv school out of state. They don’t do rank. She has a 3.9 UW and 4.02 W GPA (ap cap of 3 per year starting junior and senior year). She’s going test optional. Her extracurriculars are her strongest part of her application but that doesn’t seem to matter as much to Clemson. She’s a 1st choice business major with ecs that align and 2nd choice Econ. Do you think she has a chance at admission?
Definently a strong chance. EA is way harder to get in than RD. And they do look at the activities more RD. EA is mostly by the numbers only and they only let in around 3.95+ or 3.9-3.94 with super high scores (34+, 1500+) generally.
