Clemson University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

Is UF in state or OOS for you?

For those deferred. My son was deferred EA last year and accepted RD. He submitted the supplemental essay that is optional. He had started a new business and his GPA went up after the 1 first semester so he discussed that in the essay.

Do you qualify for aid? That might be a factor?

I doubt it we qualify.

Well, hope it all works out, if not at Clemson, then at another school your student will love.

Whaaaaatttt???

My daughter got none with exactly same stats, just FYI, also OOS, southern state. Guessing it depends on the state - they may be trying to attract kids from underrepresented states. Or major selection, not sure.

It is true that most 2nd year students move off campus. There are a range of nice complexes all within a 3-4 mile radius of campus, all served by CAT (Clemson shuttle), all with a similar $550-600/bedroom monthly rent. Many are townhouse/community style, with lots of students, so in some ways it still feels like community/dorm living. They can also purchase partial meal plans and points, for use during off campus years

My '23 son was accepted EA and it was likely going to be his first choice but since he applied elsewhere (including CA schools) he waited until late spring to commit. Roommate / dorm selection was happening later - certainly not in December. February is still relatively early to learn of a final decision-

That’s what I was thinking. We won’t know the outcome of all my daughter’s scholarship opportunities until sometime in April. The only kids I know picking roommates right now are going to less selective colleges.

I’ve also seen some comments on here kind of lumping Clemson in with “the Southern schools.” That is very inaccurate. Clemson is a tough school to get into, especially from OOS, and some majors are restricted.

Sad - as Clemson top choice. Also does this mean no on merit scholarships, honors college unlikely and dorm room options limited.

Accepted UGA
