I emailed the admission office and they revealed a very low possibility of going to the waitlist for most of their undergraduate programs.
Here is the original text: We will be monitoring forfeits throughout the summer (if any), but unfortunately it is very unlikely that we will go to the waitlist for most of our programs.
Not feeling good, to be honest. But try to be hopeful.

Wrote to the admissions department and got this response:

Thank you for emailing the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Carnegie Mellon University! Unfortunately, we will not be going to the waitlist for Computer Science.

just called the office of admissions twice today to be absolutely clear, and they said it IS possible for someone to come off the waitlist for dietrich, just that itā€™s highly unlikely, as opposed to the circumstances for the school of computer sciences that render it impossible for them to go back to the waitlist. dietrich applicants can still have hope but of course, they shouldā€™ve already committed somewhere by now either way.

also emailed about waitlist studentsā€™ situation in general, hereā€™s their response: ā€œAt this time, we have met our enrollment goals and will continue monitoring our forfeits throughout the month of June. All students will be notified by June 30th.ā€

This means its bad news. Mostly none of us will make it. The email is very clear that they have met their goals. Almost 0 chances. Sad but true!
