Did they just call you or did they email you too? If they emailed you can you please share what the email looked like? What school did you apply to?

Sorry, I wasnā€™t clear. I got email requesting call to discuss waitlist from CMU. The call was brief as others shared. But I am wondering when will portal be updated.

Congrats! Mine has not been updated yet, but I have contacted the admissions office and they said they would be doing it any time this week.

Congratulations! I am currently on the waitlist - did you reach out to the admissions officer for them to call you, or did they just randomly contact you wanting to talk? If you did write asking to talk, what did you say/who did you email?

Thereā€™s no need to reach out to admissions. Itā€™s not a random contact. CMU is calling people who fit holes they have in their preferred class makeup for class of 2028, after their first round of admits accepted or declined. They have thousands, and possibly even tens of thousands, of people on the waitlist and are only going to reach out to the people who meet their needs. Until then unfortunately we all sit and wait.

CMU does not offer any merit aid. They only provide need based financial aid (and are need aware for the waitlist).

We are still on waitlist but on the small chance we get off, I am not expecting any aid.

Hey guys, I recieved a big update that I think wold make a significant impact on my app. However, Iā€™ve already submitted my LOCI before recieving this update. Do you think it would be a good idea to email admissions regarding this update? If so, who should I email?

Itā€™s never too late to submit meaningful updates. You probably can submit it where you submitted your LOCI, but youā€™d better check with the admissions office.

Anyone hear back about the engineering waitlist? Iā€™m guessing more people will start to know now that commitment day is over.

I called admissions and they said so far they have starting taking kids off waitlist from COE & Heinz only rest will start hearing back after May 15

Oh its May 15th? I thought it was May 1st that I saw on the CMU website. I hope they email more people about COE, its frustrating to not be committed to somewhere yet.
