Coca-Cola Scholarship - 2009-2010

Hey, when where you able to apply for the '09-'10 school year? I’m waiting to apply for next year’s, but it only says it’ll open in fall… kind of vauge.

09-10 is open now! I have already started. Good luck to everyone!

Should I list College-level course taken through joint enrollment at a post secondary institution as AP? If not, how should I indicate that they are advanced courses?

Isn’t joint enrollment assumed to be college-level? If you’re not taking the AP test for the course in May, don’t list it as AP.

But the thing is, my school allows us to take the AP along with a joint-enrollment course. You can take the joint enrollment courses for credit, or for just for the difficulty. You can even pay for the credit and still take the AP at the end of the year.
Like, I’m taking College Physics and College Calculus and I’m planning on taking the AP for both of them. Should I list them as AP then?

In that case, I would list it as AP. Are you getting an error message when you try to input your class rank? I think it’s number 23 on the form.

I’m not actually, but that’s probably because I’m putting in an estimate that my GC gave me since our ranks haven’t been released yet. I’m having an issue with space though; I can’t get the names of some things to fit int he boxes.

And another thing. For listing classes. At my school you have to take World History for frosh and soph years. It’s taught in two parts. For me, the 9th grade class was honors and the 10th grade class was AP. How should I list this?

Maybe it was just a glitch when I was filling it out. I’ll try again on a different system tomorrow.

I would select it as AP since you can’t technically list both. Did you take a World Geography class because you could list Geography as an add in (consider it your freshman history) and list that as honors? I’m just guessing, your best bet would be to probably e-mail the sponsor and get their input.

No I didn’t. 9th grade was like the first half time-wise of World History (Honors), and 10th grade was the 2nd half (AP).
I guess I’ll just clarify that if they select me as a semi-finalist.

Has anyone heard anything about this year’s semi-finalists? It seems that people started hearing around this time last year.

I haven’t yet, not that I will be chosen!!! :</p>

Mythbuster2000, a winner from last year, said it’ll most likely be in early December when we hear back. :)

When checking post from previous years it seems it was around this date that people started receiving emails about being semi finalist for the coca cola scholarship. If anyone hears anything, please post.

mythbuster2000 will soon be here to tell everyone that we won’t hear back until early December :)

And I would be correct when I say it… just trying to help. I know you looked it up on their website, but as you will find out this year, many scholarships are a little late with their notifications. No need to be sarcastic.

Oh, Mythbuster. No matter how many times you say it, someone on here will still try to deny you (I mean, come on. You only won the competition. You obvs don’t know anything). Though I appreciate your input. Did you happen to enter or win any other scholarships?

I admit I was slightly off: semifinalists have been chosen…

chosen as in me not receiving an email from them means i’m not a semifinalist? not that i was expecting to be but jw

judging by the fact that no one has posted that they are a semifinalist, I would bet they haven’t sent the emails yet… in the past scholars’ newsletter, they sent us a list.

would you be interested in posting the list? haha
