Coca-Cola Scholarship - 2009-2010

just got mine in an email 10 min ago. Does anyone know what hotel we are staying at? Someone told me it was the omni…lol

Sheraton Atlanta, actually, according to the email we just got today. But one part does say Omni, so that’s a bit confusing…

Nine days!

yeah its the omni as far as i know but the email about travel said something about the sheraton so im not sure now

lol ya thats sorta why I was asking…

the omni would be so awesome.

either way, however, I am so excited for the weekend! =)

Yeah, I haven’t received my itinerary yet. I’ll just wait

Just to be sure, do you have to be poor to apply to this scholarship? I am from a middle classed family who probably earns too much to qualify to generous financial aid but too little to bear $50k a year.

The Coke Scholarship is completely merit based and does not consider your financial status. Poor or rich, you have the same shot.

Since Coca Cola is waiting one more week to announce, will someone please post when you receive your e-mail that says you are a national finalist and receive the additional $10,000? Thanks.

had an unbelievable time, everyone should apply!!!

o i love how they send the emails out for the national finalists… enjoy : )

Has anyone heard about the extra $10,000 yet?

I remember mark davis saying second week of april Ryan so the wait is ****in killin me :/

let me know if u hear back tho

ALSO apparently theres 1 person who gets the legacy scholarship

Anyone find out yet? I heard a lot of people found out already about their status

The letters were mailed April 1st. No e-mail’s this time. Didn’t get the extra $10,000. Humbled and grateful to be a Regional Scholar for $10,000.

Regional Scholar.

I did not receive a letter. Has everyone received one?

I did get my letter today.

My college said they would reduce the fin aid package because of this scholarship. So I am going to defer it to my junior year and get 2 years of grad school with it too. I thought Coca Cola Foundation’s advice to do that sounded smart cause my other smaller scholarships will frontload my freshman year. Do most colleges reduce fin aid package for outside scholarships?

Yes, Maverick, unless the school has an agreement with the organization not to reduce your aid, they will reduce your financial aid.

You can also use the money on a laptop or something instead of applying it towards school so you don’t lose the money
