Ack! Nothing. Well, I guess that was to be expected. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day.

Well, on the run again! Make sure to post in big letters if the results actually come through lol… Good night, and good luck… :)

Onestepaway - I KNOW, right??? Constantly checking my email, the Coke website, and this thread —> me not studying / doing my homework when I really need to, haha

I was in Girl Scouts for 5ish years in elem school
and I’m an ardent buyer of Boy Scout popcorn / Girl Scout cookies

@onestepaway
I am a girl scout and i got finished my gold award in December! :)

Another day, another 5:00, another no show.

are we even positive that we will find out through email?

they said that all semifinalists will be notified by email and by mail. That’s what it said in my email they sent around Jan. 31st.

how did they find out last year? im thinking its going to be by mail now. anyday nowwww. :S
and i was a girl scout all through elementary school. my brother is a soon to be eagle scout :)

Hey everyone! I’ve been following the thread for awhile and just wanted to say hey. Anyone here from Washington? Yesterday was horrible… I spent all day antagonizing about the results and then… nothing happened! It sounds like we’re all the overachiever A-type people, but maybe the wait is good for us. You know, another thing to add to the resume: “Can withstand extreme periods of stress while waiting for scholarship and standardized testing results.”

:P

I just wanted to remind everyone that the pre-recorded message when you call Coke says notifications will be sent by mail and should be received by February 11th, followed up by email. So keep an eye out for the snail mail, emails come after according to the recording!

gracias rednkhaki

yes thanks rendnkhaki! now i won’t be sitting here at the computer haha :)

A quick summary for new friends in the thread and those who are confused:

Letters have been sent.
They were presumably sent yesterday.
It’s not too surprising that nobody got theirs today (as it takes at least two days for mail to come, even for fairly local residents. If anyone got theirs today, it was because they would live in the same county as the headquarters.)
Many will get theirs tomorrow or Thursday (East coasters/Midwest/Even some Southern).
West-coasters will probably not get theirs until Friday (Thursday at the earliest and possible Saturday if there are any mail issues, but I doubt it.)
Emails and List postings will probably come out on the 11th (as this is what the telephone message says) or 14th (unlikely, but could be the case if they want to make sure everyone has their letters first.

Now I know everyone wants to know now, but realistically you all know that the mail will just come when it comes. Like cokescholars (twitter) said, it’s coming verrry soon (as in it’s in the mail). Let’s just be patient and make friends in the meantime!

No mail for me either
Why do they send e-mails after snail mail?? They reach everyone at the same time (even with time-zone) and it happens so much faster!! ugh…this is so stressful, especially since they already picked the finalists. I agree with avidreader18, we can now add “Can survive extreme stress” to our resumees.

@stereostaticxx

thank you so much! i guess we are all waiting for mail not emails then!

Very good post stereo, def makes a lot if sense so tomorrows mail should have it for me here in PA. At least won’t be nearly as stressed cus the biggest stress for me was already done for yesterday. Opening a physical letter certainly can be more scary than an email sometimes cus of the extra effort and shaking hands etc haha

@Onestepaway: My sister is a coca-cola nation finalist and is going to college there!

eats ramen
Yep, my mail had all spam today.

@Onestepaway:
I am a scout.
I just finished up my Eagle Project on Saturday (and I turn 18 on the 14th) :D

rachaelhild, I wouldn’t assume that the way notification was done last year is how it will be done this year. Last year, there was some confusion with the list going up and then being pulled back down and re-posted. Finalists then got an email and a packet by snail mail.

It seems CC is trying to prevent that from happening again so I guess they are emailing everyone first.

I do recall that the link was updated after 5PM Eastern time last year, some time in the early evening as I recall.

I wish you all good luck, I know how stressful this is. We were all so anxious when our D was a SF last year, it seemed like forever before we got the (good) news.

My advice is to try to be patient, if possible. I know that you all work so hard on all of the college and scholarship applications and then have to just sit by and wait until April 1st. It’s so “hurry up and wait” and is really frustrating. Try to enjoy the next few months. You all must have worked incredibly hard to be in this position - take the time to enjoy the fruits of all this labor. Next year, you’ll start over as frosh.
